March 2007 – Present Senior Engineer, Alabama Power Technical Services
Lead software developer for Substation Integration and Automation group
*Designed and implemented automated substation configuration software utilizing
Microsoft VB .NET and SQL server.
*Designed and implemented web-based timekeeping application used by over 150
employees utilizing Microsoft ASP, C# and SQL Server technologies.
*Developed a suite of services for automated maintenance of transmission
substations using Microsoft C++ and C# .NET.
*Project manager for “MyIEDs” and “SubGuard” product deployments. 
Responsibilities include vendor and client interaction, troubleshooting, testing
and maintenance.   

June 2004-March 2007 Senior Data Integrity Engineer, Bulk Power Operations
*Responsible for analysis and resolution of data issues impacting both the
financial reporting and operational reliability of the Southern Company
Transmission Business Unit (TBU).  This included modifications to the
Intercompany Interchange Contract, Transmission Service and Generation Balancing
Service Bills.
*Facilitated the resolution of data related problems between various entities,
including Operating Company Transmission Control Centers, metering groups and
technical services, Southern Company Generation and numerous adjoining
companies.
*Established and implemented procedures and tools for detecting, reporting and
resolving metering and real-time data issues utilizing Microsoft Office products
and technologies  Responsible for demonstration and deployment of these products
to the end users.
*Acted as project manager/liaison on several application development ventures
with in-house Information Technology department.
*Instrumental in standardizing and streamlining the PCC Data Desk workflow and
processes; including inadvertent settlement, schedule/tag validation and SOX
documentation.

*Managed several production application development and maintenance efforts. 
Responsibilities included setting tasks and priorities for peers, coordinating
system training, establishing hiring criteria and developing and implementing

*Project Manager for the EMS Data Backbone project– A data transfer system
connecting several mission critical systems   Responsible for the directing three
developers over the project lifecycle. Activities included budgeting, vendor
selection, application architecture/design, implementation, training, maintenance
and documentation.
*Designed and implemented a department-wide change management and work-flow
processing system using Java Struts and MySQL database.
Recipient of 2001 “Top Performer” Award.

1999-2000 Engineer II Energy Management Systems
*Designed and implemented the Energy Logs Data System, a Java-based data-driven
energy accounting system for the Southern Electric System.  Responsibilities
included requirements gathering from customers, data and object modeling, UI
prototyping, end-to-end system implementation, end-user training and
maintenance.
*Developed and implemented a web-based inventory control system for EMS hardware
assets.
*Member of Y2K disaster prevention and recovery team.
*Recipient of 1999 “Top Performer” Award.

1998-1999 Engineer III Energy Management Systems
*Designed and implemented the Ten Minute Logs System, a web-based data
warehouse.  Tasks included Informix 9I database design and administration, HTML
design, and Java-based 3-tier system architecture and implementation.
*Implementation of OASIS (On-line Access Same-time Information System) – a
web-based transmission scheduling tool.  Responsibilities included database
design and implementation and stored procedure programming on the Sybase 11.5
database platform.
