Technical Manager Quality Assurance 2007 - 2009

Ensured major paint line equipment upgrade launched successfully with no adverse
affect on customer quality and delivery. Collected best practices from three of
Rehau  's European Automotive plants and implemented them in the Cullman, AL
facility. Implemented a database to manage color and appearance for dozens of
articles shipping to five different North American based Automotive assembly
plants. Created new incoming paint approval process which reduced Rehau  's costs
associated with batch approval by 35 percent. Improved customer relations with
our customers. Instrumental in securing 4 new contracts over the past 3 years.
Instrumental in successful Customer and external audits necessary for maintaining
certifications and the opportunities for new business. Scheduled and conducted
regular meetings with customers and suppliers to ensure quality objectives were
met. Performed root cause analysis to solve problems and work with department
heads to implement permanent countermeasures for customer issues. Developed a
team environment while managing a group of Quality technicians. Provide technical
training to various education levels. Developed PFMEA  's, Control Plans, Process
Flow  's, and implemented data collection and management to control Quality.
Implemented statistical process control techniques to control processes through
key quality data. Have used Cpk to ensure process is capable for key Quality
Management of the various processes. On a daily basis, used 5 Why  's, 8D  's,
and 5S to improve Quality. Responsible for interpreting engineering drawings
(CAD) and ensuring parts meet specifications.

Paint Process Engineer 2005 - 2007

Implemented recycling program for dirty solvents which reduced amount of
hazardous waste that needed to be disposed and eliminated costs associated with
hazardous waste disposal by $100,000 per year.

For each new program, worked with tooling suppliers to design fixtures to hold
plastic automotive parts without distortion. Discovered new tooling supplier
which reduced tooling costs for new projects by 30 percent. Managed 5 projects
from pre-launch to transfer, including timelines, budgets, tooling design,
supplier selection, and development of technical requirements. Project Budgets I
personal managed ranged from $40,000 - $300,000 depending on the amount of
tooling that had to be purchased. 

Worked with one of our customers to co-develop a new product which Rehau was the
first to take to market with an OEM. The product which was co-developed with a
supplier reduced Rehau  's processing costs by 50% over the product it replaced,
and has led to new business. The contracts awarded which use this product is
responsible for greater than $3 million dollars in sales to date. I received a
Global Innovation Award from Rehau in 2007 for my efforts with the implementation
of this technology.

Design Team Leader - New Products 2002 - 2005
Managed three to six new product development projects simultaneously. Conducted
scientific experiments and DOE  's regularly to assist with the product
development process, to select materials to move forward with in development.
Meet regularly with suppliers of the raw materials used in development so
improvements could be continually made. Reported monthly to the Senior Management
team updates on how each development was going. Assisted with Kaizen events in
various areas of the paint manufacturing plant to implement lean principles and
continuous improvement efforts.

Technical Service Representative 1999 - 2002

Implemented database to collect color data at our customer sites and trained
tech service representatives on database management. Traveled to many Tier 1
Automotive suppliers to assist with technical issues and Quality Issues. Helped
lead Kaizen events with our customers and develop lean principles to solve
problems and make the processes more efficient. Developed a mathematical color
correlation with customer in Canada which allowed Red Spot to secure more
business and reduced quality complaints by 70 percent with a specific customer.
Assisted Red Spot  's customers across North America with improving their first
time quality numbers, by reducing dirt and improving process settings which
improved customer relations with Red Spot  's customers in Canada, Mexico, and
across the United States.
