Production Support Analyst 2005-2007
Member of a 3-person U.S. team responsible for providing 24X7 production support
services for 40+ critical Enterprise Billing web services and client/server
applications.
• Took the initiative to author 20+ operational job aids which helped new U.S.
and offshore team members to become productive quickly. Patiently answered
questions from our offshore team, until they were capable of supporting our
applications at night1.
• Saved company time and money by successfully preventing major system outages
weekly due to close proactive monitoring of our applications using Korn shell
scripts. Performed data verification in DB2 databases using SQL.
• Participated and led crisis bridge calls for high severity outages which did
occur, determining and documenting root cause by tracing transactions through
multiple application logs. This required extensive diplomatic intergroup
communication.
• Created a process to streamline monthly database updates from an outside
vendor by working with this vendor and AT&T firewall personnel. Migrated the
process from postal mail to a secure FTP update, documenting and training our
team on the process.
