Senior Systems Developer: Wrote and supported a variety of claims
processing systems for the healthcare industry. Participated in the full project
life cycle from design through coding and testing. Used Sybase SQL stored
procedures and UNIX. Worked on back-end billing system using COBOL and CICS.

As a consultant, worked on project to build new front end to an existing
system. Used BAL (370 Assembler Language) and SGML.
MCI Communications Corporation, Rye Brook, New York, 1993 – 1996
Software Engineer: Responsible for design, coding and testing of new releases
of an on-line message software package. Software was used by large volume
corporate customers to access electronic mail facilities. It was a mainframe
assembler CICS based system using LU6.2(APPC) connectivity from a customer’s IBM
host. Analyzed and resolved customer problems on an on-call basis, including
determining the stage of message failure and the system responsible for that
failure.
Westinghouse Communications Software Inc. (became Commware), Stamford,
Connecticut, 1990 – 1993
Project Leader: Managed implementation of new on-line telecommunications
software package from design through installation. Software was used by
corporate and university customers to manage their telecommunications
departments. Dealt extensively with sales personnel, customer support
representatives and clients to determine system requirements. Worked closely
with technical writer, providing advice on content and structure of user manuals.
Performed first live conversion and installation at customer beta site.
New York Life Insurance Company, New York, New York, 1984 - 1990
Project Specialist: Worked at levels of increasing responsibility on a large
contract administration system, utilizing both Cobol and Assembler Language,
on-line and batch systems. This was a master file updating system that processed
a variety of financial transactions, including remittances, loans and
commissions. Supervised several programmers, delegating programming tasks and
reviewing test results. Performed trouble shooting of production problems on a
24 hour on-call basis. Enhanced existing systems to help increase their
functionality and efficiency.
