Senior Project Manager (March 2007 - November 2007)
Coordinated and managed resources (people and money) required to successfully
complete technology projects; network infrastructure, software systems, and
process improvement.
Project management responsibilities included the addition of two new facilities
to the voice/data network, implementation of a new e-mail/messaging security
system, development of an RFQ and vendor selection process for the network design
of a baseball spring training facility (Cleveland Indians), assisting customer
and contractor staff in the development of an RFP for a Legal Case Management
system, and management of a consultant engagement to develop plans, strategies,
and standards for wireless communications, WAN infrastructure, and Voice over IP
communications (VoIP).
Developed and refined project management standards and templates.
Developed RFQs/RFPs (request for qualifications/request for proposals) for the
acquisition of technology and professional services.
Utilized MS Project Professional and MS Project Server to develop project plans
and monitor progress.
Director of Information Technology ( August 1997- February 2007)
Led the acquisition, development, administration, and support of organizational
technology for a City of extraordinary growth (Over 400% rate of population and
City employee growth in the last ten years).
Orchestrated and delivered state of the art technology to the Police Department;
changed procurement practices to achieve the objectives at a cost savings of
approximately $300,000.

installation and upgrade of several enterprise system modules.

Early adopter of the IBM AS/400 midrange server; one of the first to
successfully integrate the operations of this system with IBM mainframe and PC
systems in order to more fully integrate the manufacturing and office systems
within a common user environment.
Monotype, Inc., Elk Grove Village, IL 1988-1989
Applications Programmer
Developed interactive programs in Assembler language for the Laser Typesetters.
Developed a disk management utility to manage, reorganize, or reinitialize the
disk space of the typesetters saving several hours of staff time during setup at
a trade show or re-installation at a customer site.
Selected to attend 30 days of training at Monotype, Inc. world headquarters
(London, England) on the newly developed dual-processor typesetter. Installed 5
machines within two months ($1.25M+ Revenue).
Federal Life Insurance Company, Riverwoods, IL 1987-1988
Programmer/Analyst
Developed batch and interactive programs in various programming languages
(Assembler, COBOL, Basic, C) within a large IBM mainframe environment.
Lead conversion programmer. Extracted, transformed, and loaded property title
information into formats that could be utilized to help market and sell various
insurance products.
