WORK EXPERIENCE

Analyst, Dec 05 to June 07;
Safeway Inc, Phoenix

Major responsibilities include
•	Extracted and imported data from MS Access, SQL, and Excel formats to SAS
datasets. Performed data
manipulation by merging several datasets and extracting information.
•	Used SAS datasets to create reports using Crystal Reports 9 and Proc Reports.
Used Proc Transpose, Proc Tabulate, Proc Import, Proc Freq and Proc SQL. Used
arrays along with Proc Means, Proc Summary and Proc Freq.
•	SAS/Macros to assist business clients with new questions, and produce drill
down capability for reports. .
•	Development of new and enhanced SAS data structures in continually evolving
data warehouse and data manipulation with very large amounts of customer data
from various data sources
•	Translating and communicating complex data in summary form , automate programs
and migrate them into production

Data Analyst, July 05 to Nov 05;
Walt Disney (Internet Group), Seattle

Major responsibilities include:
•	Manipulated multiple datasets, aggregating data and merging datsets for
analysis. Used Proc Means, Proc Summary, Freq and SAS Macros extensively. Used
the Import and Export procedures to transfer data into different formats, several
SAS functions, Arrays for manipulating data for producing descriptive statistics.
Exported SAS data to Excel to produce reports and graphs
•	Developing reports which provide behavioural analysis of web systems or
business objects
•	Making recommendations to develop systems and automation which provide ongoing
reporting and analysis of system behaviour
•	Analyse data and submit recommendations to Senior Management-level teams
conducting analysis
•	Basic project management abilities; taking requirements from many sources and
manage execution of that project
•	Perform various kinds of Analysis using statistical techniques and analytical
site forecast methods
•	Utilize Data mining techniques to improve data quality
•	Analyzing Service Management data

Research Assistant, Sep ’03 – Aug ‘04
Scientific Data Management lab, Tempe, Arizona State University
Research includes

•	Designed a Survey using ASP to collect the random sample of Bioinformatics
resources used by scientists today.
•	MS-access database to store the data and applied statistical analysis to
analyze the data using Excel and SAS
•	Prepared master data set using Data Steps in SAS 8.2 (IF-THEN, MERGE,
Concatenate, Proc SQL, SAS/Access) to facilitate further analysis of data
•	Analysis involves descriptive statistics, factor Analysis, ANOVA, multi-linear
regression
•	(PROC FREQ, PROC SUMMARY, PROC REG, PROC ANOVA, PROC UNIVARIATE, PROC MEANS
etc.)
•	Designing a query language adapted to scientists
•	Scientific tasks such as mining, analyzing, searching
•	Browsing with traditional data manipulation tasks in a computational
infrastructure that uses XML-based Web technology and database/mediation
technology.

Research Assistant, Oct ’02 – Aug ‘04
Dept. Of Bioengineering, Tempe, Arizona State University
•	Research includes Engineering a Protein, which involves
•	Determining three-dimensional structures of proteins and protein complexes
•	Finding new molecules with biological activity
•	Designing protein cores, grafting protein active sites onto natural scaffolds
and redesigning the protein interfaces.
•	Statistical analysis of the relevant research data using ANOVA and regression
techniques using SAS

ACADEMIC PROJECTS
Regression Analysis: This project-involved in the identification of variables
that influence the Consumption of gas (which is the response variable), analyzing
the data, learning the characteristics of the data and interpreting the results.
The following techniques were applied in the process of building and validation
of appropriate model: Multiple Linear Regression, Transformation Techniques,
Residual Analysis, Diagnostics for Leverage and Influence, Multi Collinearity and
Variable Selection Methods, Confidence Intervals, Validation techniques
(Software Used: SAS)
Design of Experiments: Designed an experiment for Quench Tower Corrosion Study
of an Industrial Sulpher Plant: to study the factors associated with the quench
tower itself that are believed to contribute to the rate of corrosion in the
tower, as calculated by the measured Ni and Fe analysis of the water and the
current flow rate of acid water to storage, Fall ’03 (Software Used: Design
Expert 6.0)
Data Mining: The project involves Identification of Differentially Expressed
genes in Gliblastoma Multiforme from Micro array Data by normalizing the data
followed by feature selection and t-statistics and clustering to analyze the data
and find out genes that are differentially expressed across cell lines.
(Software used: SAS and Gene Spring) Spring ‘03

EDUCATION
M.S., Computational Biosciences, August 2002 – Aug 2004. GPA 3.8
Arizona State University, Tempe, Arizona
B.Tech, Chemical Engineering, Sep’ 1995 – Aug ‘1999
Andhra University, Vizag, AP, INDIA
