Notable Projects:
LinkShare Merchandiser Integration for Sirius Satellite Radio
I created an automated scheduled job to transmit data files to LinkShare
(affiliate marketing solution). Generated product report files for Sirius that
uploaded their complete inventory database information to Linkshare's system
regularly. I created the report using SQL queries. All subsequent uploads to
LinkShare contained delta files including new product, updated information on
existing products, and deleted products. This report integration permitted
LinkShare to provide Sirius' inventory data to their affiliates. The product
files were uploaded to LinkShare's system by establishing FTP account and
configuring the database. Prior to establishing the LinkShare Merchandiser
Program, Sirius generated only a few orders through LinkShare. The
implementation of Merchandiser report in LinkShare boosted sales by more than
30%. This had a significant impact on their revenue.
UPS Shipping online quotes for Genco Marketplace
GENCOMarketplaceDirect.com is a business-to-consumer online store. Customers
were only permitted to checkout items one at a time. Customer feedback was that
their shipping rates were not competitive. Their shipping rates were being
determined by the SKUs weight and bulkiness. Effectively a customer who lived 60
miles away was paying the same price as a customer who lived 2,000 miles away;
the nearby customers were being charged long-distance rates.
Solution: Reconfigured the checkout to allow multiple quantity orders. The
shipping rate calculation was enhanced. Integrated with UPS to retrieve more
accurate shipping rate, and applied it to the order. Customers were provided
with real time quotes from UPS, based upon the customer's zip code as compared to
the GENCO warehouse location. This was done by making a web service call to UPS
using the SKU's weight and dimensions to obtain an accurate shipping rate.
Displayed all retrieved information to the customer in the shopping cart.
Provided customers with a pop-up shipping estimator whereby they can enter their
zip code and see the ship rate in advance.
