Employment History: My recent work experience encompasses two major areas,
intelligence analysis and teaching.
Professional Intelligence Analyst Experience (10+ years): I regularly performed
intelligence research and analysis for the USDOJ * FBI (1998 * 2009) in Los
Angeles, California. Using my knowledge in many subjects, I typically identified
intelligence gaps and made recommendations to FBI special agents and management
to further their criminal or national security investigations. I think critically
and remain objective even when working with incomplete or skewed data sets or
overzealous individuals. I used to have a TS/SCI clearance.
Professional Teaching Experience (4+ years): At San Diego State University
(SDSU) from 1993 * 1996, I taught five semesters of astronomy lecture and
laboratory classes. Basic course materials and textbooks were provided by SDSU
however lectures and exams were developed or adapted by myself. In addition, I
also graded all homework, special projects, and exams. At St. Michael 's High
School from 1991 - 1992, I taught five classes per day in algebra, geometry,
advanced math, and physics. Other teaching experience over many years included
teaching small classes/groups or tutoring students ranging from the 6th grade to
college undergrads in math and science courses.
Educational History:
San Diego State University * 2001, MS in Astronomy
University of California at Los Angeles * 1989, BS in Astro-Physics
John Muir HS - 1984
References and transcripts (if applicable) can be provided at a future time.
Hobbies and Personal Facts: I have always made time for becoming as smart,
intelligent, and as objective a person as I can possibly be. I am skeptical by
nature, apply critical thinking to everything, and frequently think outside of
the box. I believe in doing quality work. I have traveled to 18 countries on 5
continents and have read over 700 books on subjects such as science, history, and
literature. Photography is one of my hobbies and I frame and mount my own
photographs for sale. I do not get involved in illegal or unethical
behavior/activities inside or outside of the workplace. I treat co-workers and
supervisors professionally and expect the same in return. I care more about
enjoying my job versus how much money I make doing it. I am not a yes man.
