PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
Computer Sciences Corporation (CSC)
Application Delivery Manager / System Analyst
2001 2007
Managed and recruited the key talent needed to build a strong application team
of system analyst and contractors to support various health-care applications. A
team of HL7 specialist was also under my direction to ensure seamless integration
between the various systems.
As a hands-on manager, we supported a 300 bed facility with 32 outpatient
on-site clinics and 5 remote ADT locations. As part of this support I
participated in the following McKesson Star activities on a daily basis. All
daily maintenance and development customer based support tickets were distributed
appropriately between my staff and me.
Took direct calls from departmental users regarding ADT, Clinical, Ancillary,
and/or Patient Accounting issues or questions for things like; questions with
reports, room & bed issues (patient was discharged but still showing up in the
bed in Star), charges not posting, patient did not cross over to clinical system,
etc.
Created User IDs in MSE and attached to appropriate menus.
Maintained tables Added and deleted codes to/from all tables following
hospital procedures. Some of the tables to name a few were:
o Nursing Station
o Room & Bed
o Sim / Fim
o Patient Type
o Hospital Service Codes
o Religion
Note: Table modifications were coordinated across the institution and with
external vendors to ensure that all systems could handle new or modified data
that affected interfaces.

Worked closely with HL7 team to develop new interfaces with ancillary an
external applications, researched and resolved ADT, Clinical, and Charge
transaction issues as appropriate.
Set-up additional security levels so that non-business office staff could key
late charges.
Created Forms
o Facesheet
o 18-1 Form (Treatment Authorization)
Created Menus Over the past five years I have created over 32 menus for
various departments based on access needs.
Troubleshot census on-line and report issues.
Create query reports as requested by departmental users.
Reviewed STI documentation and provided clarity to end-users as appropriate.
Reviewed to determine which STIs were applicable and required testing. Also,
worked with patient accounting analyst and departments to coordinate
implementation which was performed by my technical analyst.
Provided the non business office areas tools necessary through menu
development and query creation to perform some of their critical revenue
generating task by providing access and functionality to the Star Patient
Processing and Accounting system such as:
o Pharmacy Ability to key charges and perform Account Inquiry
o All registration / admission areas were given access to key charges (regular
and late)
o Nursing was given access to key charges, make accommodation code changes, and
account inquiries
Rotated after-hour, weekend, and holiday on-call support with the staff. Each
person was on-call for one month at a time with a minimum of 4 months per year.
Worked with McKesson when appropriate to correct those items we did not have
access to. For example: Index or pointer issues, reports that dont tally even
thought input data look fine.
Worked closely with lab staff to implement and support interfaces between the
hospital and IDX for ADT and Charge data.
Participated in and on occasion lead the change control meetings as a voting
member. In addition served as the liaison between Star and the clinical and
ancillary systems.
Developed test scenarios, coordinated and participated in cross-application
testing and solution resolution.
In addition to the analyst task, as part of the management duties, prepared
staff forecast and departmental budgets, recruiting analyst and integration staff
members.

for chart pulls for this type of data.
