Main support functions include health and medical related activities. Applying
medical regulatory rules and medical criteria to physician documentation and
requests for health services. Knowledgeable Medical terminology is necessary to
performing the duties. Typing reports, creating tracking systems, working with
state and private reimbursement agencies, data input to Internet databases,
communicating with medical and nursing staff. Determining when the manager needs
to be notified of pending problems and initiating problem solving. Working
closely with other county departments, and outside agencies, to coordinate

Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) sites across Contra Costa County provide
free tax return and language interpreter services to low and moderate income
families and individuals.
Greet and interview clients during intake and prepartion of tax return form.
Review all client's documents and respectfully ask pertinent questions. Consult
with other volunteers if unsure about filing questions. Review and sign off on
other volunteer's client's tax return in order to minimize mistakes.
I volunteer time and knowledge to help low-income taxpayers complete their tax
returns. Assist taxpayers in preparing and filing 1040, 1040A, 1040EZ, 1040 EZ-T
returns.
