Apr 2009	Working on Homeland security Muon tomography detector constructed at
Los Alamos National Laboratory for imaging heavy materials inside cargo
containers. Data analysis of the data from drift tubes and scintillator counters.
Prepared software package for the full set of calibrations, track fitting, event
reconstruction (C++ on Ubantu/MAC). 
Density determination based on maximum expectation minimization algorithm. 3-D
density imaging in the detection volume. ROC curve analysis for the detection
performance.  mysql database access, automatic mirroring of multiple databases.
Front-end database access in on/off-line calibration and imaging process on
tomography detector. Python scripting: GUI for MySQL database browser. GUI for
on-line run control with database interactive access. Multi threading processing
on 24CPU machines.
Geant4 simulation of the experimental setup.
1999 ─ 2008
UCI, USA		Experimental Data Processing System for experimental data from
drift chambers. (Analogues and digital signal processing, hit reconstruction,
track reconstruction, event visualization). MC simulation of the proton beam
interaction with a heavy target, neutron and charge particles tracing through
different types of magnets and detectors with Geant 4.  MC and experimental runs
data processing was written on C++/Linux. 
The processed data from each run was stored in Oracle Database for further
processing and reports using Oracle9i Developer suite.  I implemented graphical
interface to the experimental data in Oracle with capacity to generate various
reports and experiment support personnel management.
Another module keeps track of the hardware settings and other parameters of each
experimental session. It was written on VB.Net and used data from mysql database
hosted on Linux.
	Digitization of simulated data (Fortran)
	Load/display data (including graphical information) into/from mysql
with PHP
	Graphical interface to MySQL database, WEB access to any data table and
translation of musql dump files into Oracle PL/SQL using Python CGI script on
Apache server.
	Administration, maintenance, database access code development of mysql
Database Server, including an active mirror installation from PSI, Switzerland 
	Administration/automation of CVS and SVN
	Java multithreaded applets and servlets on Apache Tomcat 6.0 platform;
JSP workshop registration web page, that stores user information in MS Access

Decision Sciences Corporation, San Diego (tomography detector at Los Alamos
National Laboratory)
•	Calibration for 4000 tubes of tomography detector;
•	Analysis software for tomography detector, starting from raw hit data and
producing final density image of threat object in detection volume;
•	Developed track fitting code in the drift tubes with T0 self determination; 
•	Prepared service tools (GUI interface for run control and database browsing),
front end database read/write access.
University of California, Irvine (MEG experiment at PSI, Switzerland)
•	Participation in installation of drift chambers into MEG experiment area (was
involved in drift chambers performance checks);
•	Software development for simulation of electron tracks in the MEG detector and
digitization of the signal in the drift chambers with wave-form output in the
anode signal and induced signal on the cathode strips;
•	Software development for experimental data analysis: hit reconstruction, track
reconstruction, event visualization read/write access to MySQL database.
University of California, Irvine (MECO experiment at Brookhaven National
Laboratory) 
•	Optimization of scintillation counter electron calorimeter for MECO
experiment;
•	Optimization of  the muon target for electron production in the Detector
Solenoid;
•	Optimization of the proton target for the muon production in the Production
Solenoid;
•	Using finite elements analysis  to calculate temperature of Tungsten proton
target as function of time for 50MW proton beam with different time structure and

•	Participated in writing  MECO experiment proposal for NSF (approved in 2000);
•	Implemented in Geant3 code process of negative muon capture in any material,
proved that simulation has a nice agreement with available experimental data;
•	Optimized MECO experiment shielding using Geant3/Geant4 simulation of neutron
transport down to thermal energy; 
•	Simulation of light output in scintillation counters of the cosmic veto active
shield from different sources of background: neutrons, protons, muons, electrons
and pions;
•	To estimate MECO experiment radioactivity hazard, simulated Tritium and other
radioactive isotopes production in experiment area;
•	Estimated aging factor for electronics and ADPs of Lead Tungstate crystal
calorimeter due to neutron flux.
KEK, Japan (K2K experiment at High Energy Accelerator Research Organization)
•	Participation in the production of the Scintillation Fiber tracking detector;
•	Participation in the installation of the drift chambers into K2K neutrino
detectors and setting up the data acquisition, drift chambers performance
checks;
•	Software development for the reconstruction of the neutrino events in the K2K
neutrino detector. Muon track and neutrino hadron shower fitting, neutrino energy
calculation.
•	Visualization of the reconstructed track in three types of the detectors: lead
glass calorimeter, Sci-Fi fine grain tracking detector and muon drift chambers. 
 
IHEP, Russia (ATLAS experiment at CERN, Switzerland)
•	Building a prototype for ATLAS muon drift chambers;
•	Studying prototype characteristics and optimization of the gas mixture and
operational conditions;
•	Participation in assembling and testing of a large full-scale prototype of
muon drift chamber (5x2.5 m2) for ATLAS detector;
•	Software development for muon track reconstruction in ATLAS detector
prototype;
•	Organizing construction of RAZNIC optical system for ATLAS muon chamber

•	Installation of the drift chambers into Neutrino Detector; setting up the data
acquisition system and on-line measurements of drift chamber system parameters:

•	Providing programming support for muon track reconstruction and its

neutrino energy; data processing of all available statistics accumulated during

flux in the 70Gev accelerator proton beam behind the proton target;

reconstruction that takes into account a finite resolution of the detector which
vary considerably with a neutrino energy;
