To Whom it may concern;
I've been working in the electronics industry for over 25 years. Starting out
as an Electronics Tech. I found I enjoyed designing PCB's. I've designed
everything from Video games to Down converters, from single sided to multilayer
pcb's. I've used nearly every component manufactured including surface mount
devices. I started taping pcb's by hand. When computer programs primarily Pcad
came along I switched. Now I have designed PCB's using Pcad, Cadstar, Tango, PADS
power and Orcad I have drawn schematics using PADS logic, Cadstar, Orcad 9.2 and
Pcad. I do all of the fabrication and assembly dwgs on Acad 14.
I had been contracting my design services to various companies throughout the
Silicon Valley before I joined Sentrol. Following is a list of SOME of them.
SENTROL Jun. '98-Present SR Designer
Scantroics was purchased by Sentrol. They offered to move us to Oregon. Still
designing PCB 's using Cadstar Gold and PADSpower. Maintaining the library and
documentation for 23 EE 's. The EE 's use Orcad to generate there schematics
and then I convert there net list to Pads for the pcb layout.
SCANTRONICS May '95 “ Jun. '98 SR Designer
Using Cadstar (Zuken-Redac) I draw schematics and then transfer them to PCBd
's. Some use SMT devices and some were thru hole. The final product is used for
the keypads and controllers used in burglar alarm systems.
SIEMENS SEMICONUCTOR Sept. '93 - Apr. '94 SR Designer
Started working on a mechanical design for a Siemens customer to use Siemens
components to detect a car in the blind spot on large trucks and busses. Next I
designed a modem the size of a credit card for use in lap top computers.
ALTIUM May '93 - Sept. '93 SR Designer
Contracted to debug PCad rel.07 on the UNIX system as well as the PC based
system.
CALIFORNIA MICROWAVE Sept.'92 - May '93 SR Designer
Sustaining documentation. Updated ECN/ECO's that had been generated but never
documented or implemented by the company that CMI was doing the work for. Did all
of the mechanical drwaings on Acad rel 11 and Pcad as well as Orcad. I updated
the test procedures with Word Perfect 5.1 and Word Star.
ADVANCED PROTO Jan.'92-Sept.'92 Customer Service
Interfaced with customers on there PC bd requirements, quoted the cost of board
manufacture. Scheduled deliveries did some pc designs.
FLEXSTAR Inc. Apr.-Jul.'91 PC Designer
Deigned there NEW SCUSI interface. Redesigned some of the boards used in there
test equipment.
DEIGO COMPUTER Feb.-Mar.'91 PC designer
Short assignment. Updated the design of there 486 mother board for overseas
manufacture and assembly.
TELCO SYSTEMS Nov.'90-Jan.'91 E/M Designer
Reduced 6 layer pcb to 4 layer. Designed there latest telecommunication solid
state switcher using Pcad for pcb and Acad for mechanical drawings.
CALIFORNIA MICROWAVE Jan.'89-Nov.'89 E/M Designer
Designed mechanical package for microwave signal source. Did the 12 PCB's
required for the system on P-CAD. Because this new product had to be as small as
possible there was a lot SMT devices used. It had to operate over large freq.
range, from DC to 27GHz some of the pcb's had to have ground planes and one was
digital with memory, all were multilayer. I did all of the drawings on P-CAD.
AMDATA Nov.'87 - Apr.'88 E/M Designer
Designed mechanical package for light weight ultrasonic weld testing equip
't., used in the field for finding voids in welds on pipelines and reactor
containment.
TXR May '87 - Oct.'87 PC Designer
Design of PCB's for Telecommunication switching equip't.
TEMPRESS Oct '85 - Apr.'87 Manager
Manager of the PCB Design Dept.. Supervised 4 PC designers as well as the
Document Control area. Wrote the standards for PC Design and control as well as
designing some PCB's. Wrote the standards for ECO & ECN tracking and
implementation.
NUCLEONICS Jan.'82 - Jul.'84 Design Engineer
Designed PCB's and package for a Page Monitoring System for use in the Nuclear
Reactor industry. I also installed this system for Boston Edison Power at the
Pilgrim power station.
CREATIVE DESIGN SERVICES Jan.'75 - Dec.'79 Owner
Designed and manufactured test equip't for use in the start-up phase of Nuclear
reactors. We also did test equip't used in the start-up of BART. I have designed
and manufactured scoreboards and timing equip't primarily used in auto racing.
ACCURATE DESIGN, Inc. Jun.'70 - Dec.'74 PARTNER/MANAGER
Initial start-up venture, my partners built the printed circuit boards. I
supervised the design, assembly and testing of the boards.
I supervised between 10 to twenty five people. I was primarily involved in
management and sales. Doing some of the more difficult pcb designs.
GENERAL ELECTRIC CO. Feb.'61 -Jun.'70 SR. ELECTRONICS TECH
Started work in the Quality Assurance dept. doing the final electrical setup
and testing on instruments used in Nuclear Reactor control. Continued schooling.
Transferred to Engineering. Was responsible for seismic testing of all of the
equip't used in the control of reactors. Evaluated test results wrote standards
for NRC approval. Made suggestions to engineering to improve present design.
Worked on the Rod Position Indicating System did most of the PCB design as well
as the mechanical packaging of this new system.
FAIRCHILD. Jun.'59 - Feb.'61 ELECTRONICS TECH
Built up circuits supplied by Fairchild customers. Substituted Fairchild
components, documented any changes. Did any PCB designs.
LINK AVIATION Oct.'58 - Jun.'59 ELECTRONICS TECH.
Worked on a system used to keep track of the busses in Chicago. Later this same
system was used to monitor rail road cars. Did most of the PCB designs as well as
testing.
MILITARY & PERSONAL DATA
Four years in the Air Force. Honorable discharge.
Completed the longest Electronics course offered by any of the services at the
time, 50 weeks. Finished in the top 2% so I got to work on the Link C11C Jet
Instrument trainer. Mostly servos, resolvers and amplifiers.
Attended San Jose City College, San Jose State Univ...Married. In good health.
