PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
S3C INC., Sunnyvale, CA * 2007 - 2009
Senior Product Design Engineer
Served as project lead for design of micromechanical packaging systems for new
sensor products by applying advanced material joining, bonding, sealing, die
attach and MEMS technologies. Managed schedules, timelines, qualification plans
and design reviews to communicate project status and readiness.
Developed product assembly processes and documentation, BOM, detailed mechanical
parts and assemblies drawings, and test tooling documentation. Collaborated with
vendors and local machine shops to fabricate parts and assemble tooling for
prototype building.
Key Accomplishments
* Successfully designed low cost pressure sensor products, assembled
prototypes, and conducted verification testing ahead of schedule.
Senior Manufacturing Engineer
Supported manufacturing processes and led continuous improvement initiatives for
fabrication of industrial and automotive pressure sensors. Procured equipment,
developed fixtures and tooling, and documented manufacturing methods. Produced
BOM, ECN/Deviation change requirements. Generated visual and mechanical
inspection and production documents.
Conducted troubleshooting, root cause failure analysis, and reliability
environmental and endurance testing (mechanical shock, temperature shock,
temperature cycling, humidity, chemical exposure) to determine the useful life of
sensors.
Supervised and trained engineers, technicians and operators. Worked closely with
machine shops and suppliers during tool fabrication to ensure their products met
specifications.
Key Accomplishments
* Developed and implemented a new manufacturing assembly line for the pressure
sensor product that improved yields and quality.
* Conceptualized, developed and successfully transferred the complete product
Test system to an offshore facility for high volume production.
* Acquired and implemented Optical measurement equipment (MVP-150) to improve
quality assurance capability and enhance production quality.
GENESIS VACUUM TECHNOLOGIES, San Jose, CA * 2006 - 2007
Senior Engineer - Mechanical Design & Quality
Spearheaded design optimization and improvements for cryogenic pumps and helium
compressors. Conducted quality assurance on all incoming parts and assemblies.
Performed troubleshooting and failure analysis activities and quickly resolved
all non-conforming material issues. Managed ISO 9000:2001 qualification and
registration.
SAMSUNG INFORMATION SYSTEMS AMERICA, San Jose, CA * 2001 - 2006
Senior Head Stack Assembly (HSA) Engineer
Led suspension design and engineering verification activities with internal
electro-mechanical teams, vendors and HSA suppliers. Defined product
requirements, vendor capability, and recommended optimum target design.
Qualified suspensions and produced final qualification packages.
Monitored suspension related issues from HGA to drive build process. Conducted
failure analysis and implemented corrective actions. Prepared back-up designs for
load/unload and CSS suspensions. Proposed low cost approach for suspension
design. Supported electrical test group by designing and building fixtures for
HGA testing.
Key Accomplishments
* Pioneered the development of a suspension with multiple leads.
* Successfully completed Six Sigma project and received Green Belt
certification.
READ-RITE, Milpitas, CA * 1997 - 2000
Senior Process Engineer
Developed and utilized NPI tooling, equipment, HSA assembly processes, and
inspection test methods for local pre-production HSA assembly. Determined process
flows, reviewed customer specifications, trained technicians, supervisors and
operators. Conducted tooling and process qualifications activities, generated
transfer readiness packages and supported offshore factory with replacement
tooling and Failure Analysis activities.
Traveled to offshore factory to train and support engineering staff during
product transfers. Initiated PMP and PCP plans, process flow travelers, BOM, and
ECN/TCN. Conducted and controlled all HSA manufacturing processes and assemblies
within Class 100 clean room environment.
UNISIL CORPORATION, Mountain View, CA * 1995 - 1997
R & D Engineer
