Directed a California Endowment Grant of 1,000,000.00 to provide mental health
services for Latino indigent populations.
Visalia, CA. The program developed a successful engagement strategy, the use or
mental health promotores, for rural Latino populations, Mixteco, immigrant farm
workers, and acculturated multiple problem families. The program will be
published in the Journal of Community Mental Health. A large prevention program
was implemented in the school districts for the prevention of teen pregnancy,
drug use, school dropout, and gang involvement.
