Korn/Ferry International (07/1999 - 07/2000)
Los Angeles, CA
Manager of Internet Services
Korn/Ferry International (03/1998 - 07/1999)
Los Angeles, CA
Senior Programmer / Analyst
As I joined Korn/Ferry International my responsibilities were to build a strong
development team and to design and develop a strong development methodology.
Within the last eleven years I have built a senior level development team and
have architected and managed many of our cutting edge enterprise applications. I
am responsible for the management, design, implementation and support of our
global infrastructure hosting Korn/Ferry Internationals e-Business applications.

Current / Past Projects
•	Architected and developed an iPhone application to be used by our Clients and
Candidates.
•	Architected and managed the development of our core global (servicing 72
office throughout 42 countries) client/server application utilizing Visual Studio
2008 and Microsoft’s Framework 3.0/3.5 XAML and WCF (Windows Communication
Foundation) technologies.
•	Based on my design and presentation, Microsoft selected Korn/Ferry as one of
the key resources in their Visual Studio 2005 Tools for Office Alpha project. We
were presented in Steve Ballmer's key note presentation in Tech-Ed 2005 and have
been working closely with Microsoft product managers and development managers.
Our mission was to integrate MS Outlook and the Internet with out core client
server application. We’ve designed this project to deliver data from our
relational database in context with emails our global users receive.
•	Managed, designed and developed a no-touch deployment architecture using .NET
which allows the application to change based on the user and the client. This
design enables our internal or external applications to be completely modular and
not be limited to application versioning limitations.
•	Managed, designed and developed a WebDAV (Web Distributed Authoring and
Versioning) .NET server written in .NET. The objective was to build a new
document management application for our core application. This new server allows
our applications and users to access SQL server as a file system from within
Windows Explorer, Microsoft Office and other third party applications.
•	Managed, designed and developed a new .NET rapid application development
architecture enabling us to host all applications, all languages and all dynamic
content under one system and one web site. Whit this new design we’re able to
lower our server load while increasing our business logic and user interface
reuse.
•	Managed and designed a new Futurestep Candidate Site on the e-K/F Technology
Platform. Managed the development of a new site adhering to the requirements
specification created by the Futurestep business. The objective was to create a
streamlined registration process that utilizes the e-Korn/Ferry online and
back-end system architecture. The project was designed to improve the candidate
experience while reducing software maintenance costs. This process involves
consolidating 22 different web sites written for six different languages into one
common web site powered by eKornFerry.
•	Managed and designed the conversion of KornFerry.com onto the eKornFerry.com
architecture to help support multi-language content and rapid development.
•	After September 11, U.S. Dept. of Transportation working with Korn/Ferry
International initiated a Federal Security Directors search to help place heads
of security for our nation's top 81 airports. I designed, architected and
directed the development of a new process designed to handle large numbers of
candidates for this search. The process combines a customized e-Korn/Ferry
posting with an online questionnaire to automatically score each applicant.
High-scoring applicants rise to the top of the screening queue as soon as they
apply, allowing the search team to keep their focus on the highest-potential
candidates from the start. The search has generated over 33,000 applications in
four months. The Online Interview capabilities, developed for this search are
re-usable and have already been applied to many other engagements.
•	Managed, designed and developed a Site Content editor used by content managers
and site translators. This product allows Korn/Kerry to host only one site with
the ability to provide content in many languages. This product simply navigates
through the existing web site, making the static content editable within the
Local (Language/Country) selected. This type of a product allows you to see the
placement, and the content on the web site as the end user would without the need
for a custom data entry product.
•	Yahoo! Careers Executive Center (http://executive.yahoo.com). Designed,
architected and directed the implementation of the front-end co-hosted site, data
handoff and backend workflow. Yahoo! Careers uses targeted messaging to encourage
its more senior-level members to enroll in the co-branded Executive Center and
provide their online resume. The site offers a resume builder, job postings,
personal assessments, and other career-related content. The online resumes are
transmitted immediately to e-Korn/Ferry and are automatically segregated by
level; qualified executives are routed to core applications. The project was
completed on time and on budget. Provided ongoing maintenance and support,
including MIS generation, problem resolution and system enhancements.
•	Managed, designed and developed "http://www.ekornferry.com", the company's
online candidate database system that is completely XML driven, connecting via
messaging to candidate processing systems worldwide. System runs as a web farm (8
servers) to a clustered SQL server, connected via MSMQ to over 30 servers
worldwide. Microsoft IIS 5.0, running MTS to SQL 2000. It runs on a proprietary
XML engine that greatly speeds development and supports multi-language dynamic
content as well as static site content.
•	Conceived, designed and supervised construction (as well as working as a
developer) of an intranet portal to allow consolidation of corporate information
through customizable panels (similar to My Yahoo) that connects to Search
systems, web systems, 650 MB Intranet repository, financial systems, etc.
Includes dynamic graphing as well as connection to multiple SQL databases,
company news databases, and pulling financials from SAP. System allows full
security panel as well as cross panel security, full user customization and
developer tools for building plug-in panels easily.
•	Conceived, designed and supervised construction of "Search Central", an
internal system that the customer service center uses to screen candidates, track
users and respond to inquiries.
•	Conceived, designed and supervised construction of "Matcher", a XML database
searching system that searches candidate records in an extremely simplified
interface while each criteria is weighted and can be classified as "nice to have"
or "Required". Matching criteria is totally dynamic and can easily be expanded as
XML definition expands.
•	Conceived, designed and supervised construction of internal digital nervous
system to route, flow and process XML messages worldwide. Messages include data
updates, executive invitations, document conversions, etc. Includes full
tracking, throttling, and dynamic queue management via custom applications.
•	Management Assessment: I am the manager and technical architect for an
extranet application that helps conduct executive audits for our clients.
•	Conceived, designed and supervised construction of a Client Center extra-net
that makes extensive use of advanced XML technologies. This extra-net allows
clients to view the status of their searches on-line in a near real-time system
as well as invite others from within their company to participate in the process.

•	I have managed, designed and developed a global Intranet project, which
enables the company to track new business development throughout its 92 offices
around the globe.
•	I have designed and developed a VB6 COM component that enables the rapid
development of dynamic data driven web pages using SQL Server, MTS 2.0 and IIS
4.0/5.0. Korn/Ferry International has adopted this new product as the bases of
its Intranet, Internet and Extranet.
•	I am responsible for the creation, management and architecture of Korn/Ferry's
Intranet and Extranet web sites. (Matcher, Search Central, Screener, Eng.
Screener, SOAP, Content Management etc.)
•	Product support manager for an existing Global Board Search application
designed to track company boards and committees around the world.
