WORK EXPERIENCE:

June 2004 / Jan 2005 – Senior PowerBuilder Programmer. Vistar Technologies,
Wellington, FL. The PowerBuilder position was 100% telecommute. Developed a new
Scheduling Application by myself using PowerBuilder 9.0. The Application will be
used by Blue Cross / Blue Shield of Illinios, New Mexico, and Texas and Medical
Mutual of Ohio. The Application imports medical group data and physician data
from an existing Credentialing Application and database. The Application allows
an administrator or scheduler to schedule an appointment for a nurse’s visit to a
physician’s office. The Application allows nurses to view their appointments on a
daily, weekly, or monthly calendar. The nurses conduct surveys of physician’s
offices and patient’s charts. The Scheduling Application was designed to work
with 3 different databases, Oracle 8, MS SQL Server 2000, and Sybase Adaptive
Server Anywhere 8.0. The Application datawindow SQL and global functions were
written to work with all 3 databases. Tested the Application using all 3
databases. Created Oracle 8, MS SQL Server, and Sybase database scripts to create
tables, alter tables, create database indexes, create synonyms, modify fields,
and grant table permissions. Modified 3 separate Site Survey PowerBuilder
Applications to work with the Scheduling Application. The Site Survey Download
Application downloads physician information from the Scheduling Application
database to a laptop Sybase Adaptive Server database. The Site Survey Data Entry
Application allows nurses to input survey information to the laptop database. The
Site Survey Upload Application uploads survey information from the laptop
database to the Scheduling Application database. Developed an Application to
write validated physician data using a specification to a text file as one long
string. The text file is then sent to the Federation of State Medical Boards
(FSMB). The file data is loaded and the data parsed and a Credentialing report is
generated showing whether the physician’s license is valid.

Nov 1999 / June 2004 - PowerBuilder & Java Developer. American Automobile
Association, Heathrow, FL, Responsible for providing software development for 5
PowerBuilder PFC Applications: RAP (Roadside Assistance Program), RAP Billing and
Payment System, RAP Billing and Payment Online via IE 5.5 browser & Citrix, PC
Data Entry Application, and Avatar. Used PowerBuilder 6.5/8.0, PFC, Informix 7/9,
Oracle 8, MS SQL Server and Sybase SQL Anywhere Network Server 5.5 databases. RAP
is used by 95 AAA Clubs nationally to provide emergency road service to motorists
for GM, Volkswagen, and Lexus Vehicles. The Application reads, validates, and
processes messages (New, Cancel, Close, Acknowledgement) coming from the EDS
Mainframe by checking an FTP Directory every 60 seconds. The Application
determines the Services (Tow, Locksmith, Jumpstart, etc.) a motorist is entitled
to and tracks the Services provided. The VIN is validated. The Call Status
(Received, Dispatched, On Location, Cleared) for each Call is tracked. Programmed
datawindows, datastores, tabpages, non-visual user objects, functions, etc. Used
SQL Anywhere Network Server 5.5 as the database. Provided troubleshooting support
using TCP/IP. Deployed new releases and patches to the Clubs. Worked extensively
on the RAP Billing and Payment and RAP Billing and Payment Online Systems. The
Applications are Call Editing, Billing and Payment Systems for paying AAA Clubs
for emergency roadside services provided. Constructed the Application Framework
using the PFC Library, Menus, the Application Manager, MDI Frame, non-visual user
objects, and 2 transaction objects (SQLCA & IFMXSQLCA). Enabled PFC E-Mail
Notification of errors for the Application. When an Application error occurs, an
e-mail message is sent to the developers indicating where in the Application the
error occurred. Worked on the Call Details Window that contained 9 tabpages with
multiple datawindows per tabpage. Programmed windows, datawindows, datastores,
shared datawindows, non-visual (n_cst_appmanager) and visual user objects,
tabpages, menus, filter windows, reports, structures, functions, transaction
objects, and user-events. Used PFE objects inherited from the PFC layer. Used OLE
(Object Linking and Embedding) to copy and paste Excel spreadsheets into the
Application. . Used OLE to fill out Excel Spreadsheets and Outlook E-mails.
Programmed cursors, stored procedures, and used embedded SQL. Created database
tables and added fields to the database. Compiled and distributed the Application
Source Code (PBDS and DLLs). Used the PB Sync utility to synchronize (copy) the
Application PBDs / DLLs from the NT Drive to the user’s PC. Installed the
Application on user’s PCs. Deployed and supported the application over an
Intranet using Citrix Servers. Installed printers for Citrix Clients. Worked on
the PC Data Entry Application. The Application allows AAA Clubs to edit, correct
and validate data, import text files, save changes to text files. The corrected
files are then FTPed via TCP/IP to the AAA National Office, and an e-mail is sent
from the Application to alert the National Office that a file has been FTPed.
Completed the Project after 3 other developers failed to complete the project.
Modified the Application from a Non-PFC Application to a PFC Application. Created
Global datastores that use text files as the datasource for drop down
datawindows. Shared datastore data with drop down datawindows. Programmed
functions, user events, windows, datawindows, datastores, shared drop down
datawindows, filters, sorting. Added FTP and e-mail capability to the Application
to send files, e-mail, and attachments. Developed a C++ program to install the
Application from a CD.

Worked on converting the RAP/PC Application from a PowerBuilder Application to a
browser based Java Application. Created a Java Connection Pool class for creating
pooled connections, getting connections from the stack, connecting to an Informix
database using JDBC, executing a SQL statement, loading the ResultSet to a
Vector, disconnecting from the database, and returning the connection back to the
stack and pool. Installed and configured Tomcat 4.0 JSP / Servlet container for
serving up Java Server Pages and Servlets. Developed Java classes, Java Beans,
Java Server Pages, Servlets, Scriptlets, Applets, Javascript, and HTML Pages for
displaying the ResultSet data retrieved from an Informix database. Developed
Applets that displayed Informix database data using JInternalFrames, JPanels,
Containers, ContentPanes, and Swing Components.
