J. Larry Aultman – Chairman and CEO of SyncPac Corporation
Founder and executive with consulting engineering company, servicing government
and industry in communication systems, system automation and data
acquisition/processing.
Consulted with and designed automation/data systems for companies such as E.I.
Dupont, M&M Mars, Miller Brewing Company, Kimberly Clark, as well as government
projects at federal, state, and local levels also provided services to foreign
companies and governments.
Mr. Aultman has developed software and systems for data communications primarily
for industrial automation and process control. His many development/management
projects included hardware design and selection down to the component level. His
company also provided resource management and field engineers and project
supervision. Over the course of 25 years his company provided services in 13
countries.
As a principal Mr. Aultman was involved in planning and development of many
large corporate systems which his company developed for its clients. Notably a
data acquisition system that utilized in-house designed microcontrollers and
proprietary wireless packet communications in point to multi-point configuration
were designed and delivered. These systems were used in many plant operations
and government control networks including safety, water and waste control,
mining, military, and large scale production requiring 100% uptime. He developed
integrated controls and data systems that utilized Rockwell/AB process
controllers and other process control equipment such as Gould, Modicon, GE,
Honeywell and others. These systems not only gathered data but also were
integrated into the process to actually control the manufacture of goods or the
operation of complex systems.
With a very good perspective into businesses from small to large, Mr. Aultman in
1997 founded what is now SyncPac Corporation as a high-tech startup. Recognizing
the underserved and underdeveloped (technologically) vast market area populated
by mature small businesses he created the company purposefully developing a small
business e-commerce solution. This solution provides process automation to the
individual service and retail business; streamlining operations, lowering cost,
and increasing productivity. His goal for the company is to provide low cost
tightly integrated systems that remove the cost barrier for the multitude of
small business owners. To accomplish this goal his company had to produce and
operate the infrastructure to support the small businesses. This includes the
processing of the credit/debit card transactions and ACH e-checks coupled to
automated inventory management. This revolutionary concept also provides the
financial commitment to the small business owner where the company serves as the
acquiring merchant services provider, not merely as a gateway.
Over $2 million was raised in seed capital to fund the development in late 1999
to catapult the company forward following the initial private funding. Mr.
Aultman restructured the company in 2001 as a technology venture company to
better fit the business financial climate. During the past five years he has
re-developed the company’s product offerings and converted all software to a
single code platform, Microsoft’s .NET Framework. Under his direction the
company secured financial backing through commercial institutions to create a
direct credit card clearing system and ACH check clearing that creates the
ability for the company to provide competitive services to VISA and other card
processors.
SyncPac, as a technology venture partner provides the necessary infrastructure
for a company to develop not only its technology but to develop its entire
“go-forward” strategy in a controlled and friendly environment. He actively
participates in the management of his technology clients with a personal
investment. SyncPac has for the past two years worked developing the technology
and corporate structure for MedAffinity Corporation a six year old electronic
medical records technology (EMR/EHR) company. SyncPac has provided the
technology, operations, and datacenter in its TIER-1 facility in Tallahassee, FL.
Through agreement with MedAffinity Corporation, SyncPac will deliver a small
practice version of the medical software product to MedAffinity and will retain
ownership of the source code. The MedAffinity/SyncPac agreement allows SyncPac
to further development the product as an enterprise EMR system and market
unrestricted. SyncPac is in talks with several companies to bundle the software
into existing systems.
Mr. Aultman is involved in the development of an ergonomic workstation
manufacturing company having invented the system 18 years ago (1989). The new
company is currently manufacturing the chair systems and selling them to computer
game enthusiasts, and corporate programming departments. The company is
developing an independent distributor network at this time.
He has not been an accumulator of accolades as many others have and that may be
his only regret. However he has always been a avid reader of self-development
books and publications. He has attended numerous business conferences and
product training seminars to develop his skills and chose to develop himself
through work rather than academic achievements.
A tireless entrepreneur, inventor, computer scientist and family man, loves
flying, electronics, amateur radio (Ham), and spending time with friends. A very
active member and supporter of his church, Canopy Roads Baptist Church, is
involved with several ministries of the church. Has annually been on mission
trips with Carpenters for Christ, deriving great pleasure working hard for
somebody else’s benefit.
