real-time monitoring of batch processes. The application was connected with
Alerter Server to provide desktop alert notifications to selected clients. OSD
application was developed in ASP.NET using VB.NET on .NET Framework 1.1,
connecting to SQL2000 database. In 2007 is has been converted to use SQL2005. In
2008 it is getting converted to C# on .NET 2.0 Framework and upgraded to
SQL2008.
Development process included:
Designing a Stoplight Report to provide a display of current batch job
status.
Designing a drill-down process using AJAX to show job details.
Designing JavaScript function to provide Export to Excel capability.
Developing Crisis Monitor page providing an ability for the User to enter the
Alert in the system.
Developing Alerter Server application using .NET Remoting to deliver Alert
notifications to desktop clients.
Developing Desktop Alert Monitor application using .NET Remoting to receive an
Alert notification and display popup message in the system tray.
Developing OSD Trending and Metrics pages to provide statistical analysis of
recent trends in batch job performance.
Developed extensive Administration facility to manage all application
