PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

STARWOOD VACATION OWNERSHIP Orlando, FL 2003-
Programmer/Analyst BBX
• Provided Off-Hours (nights and weekends) Help Desk coverage that included BBX
support.
• Maintain Visual Pro/5 system that provides backup should primary Sun system
not be available. The backup system included all necessary BBX functions
available on the Sun system.
• Served as Off Hours (24-7) BBX backup. To ensure all locations had access to
BBX support if necessary I periodically was on call at all times to provide
assistance.
• Automated a process to correct the status of current data presently done by
manual changes. SOP was to manually change all files required to change the
status of a transaction. Using the BBX programs I created saves several hours of
work each time the program is used.
• Trouble shoot BBX program problems. When a program was producing errors or
incorrect solutions, I used existing tools to determine what caused the problem
and either corrected the problem or made others aware of the condition so it
would be corrected.
• Work with Users to determine expected outcomes of requested new changes and
problematic existing programs. When necessary performed background research to
make sure the information that users provide was correct.
CLOPAY BUILDING PRODUCTS, Orlando, FL 1986-2002
Sr. Programmer/Analyst (1993-2002)
Established disaster recovery procedures that ensured business
continuity and provided documents for normal backup procedures.
Initiated profit center reporting that compared cost vs. revenue
percentages across all divisions. This highlighted performance discrepancies
which enabled management to make more informed decisions.
Researched, developed, and coded order entry system utilizing variable
discount multipliers that provided for adjustment of order profit percentage.
This enabled increased pricing accuracy, efficiency, and flexibility.
Introduced the ability to calculate profit percentage at time of order
entry. This tool allowed personnel to know if an order was profitable at the
time of creation, identified pricing concerns, and red-flagged sales below target
percentage.
Adapted in-house programs to utilize outside sources for obtaining tax
rates and freight charges. The standardized data greatly reduced data entry
mistakes, eliminated errors caused by rate changes, and streamlined the process
required for updating.
