	Consultant

	Mass Mutual VANTAGE WMA Projects

The Mass Mutual Product Engine platform, which was migrated from Vantage version
15.3 to Wealth Management Architecture (WMA) platform.  The following was
completed using Mainframe Express/MICROFOCUS COBOL;

•	Designed, coded and tested database conversion programs which converted data
from old VSAM file format to DB2.
•	Retrofitted customized Mass Mutual VANTAGE COBOL code to the WMA platform.
•	Tested the new WMA functionality.




The Mass Mutual Open Transaction Architecture (OTA) platform, which handled all
Life Insurance products, was converted to the new VANTAGE Wealth Management
Architecture (WMA) platform.  A customized Mass Mutual application named 203 API
needed conversion so that it may run on the new WMA platform.  The following was
completed using Mainframe Express/MICROFOCUS COBOL;

•	Set up the new WMA Service Manager layer
•	Retrofitted customized Mass Mutual 203 API COBOL code from the old OTA Service
Manager to the new WMA Service Manager. 
•	Regression tested the new WMA code.
•	Parallel tested the retrofitted 203 API code.

	AXA Equitable WMA Project

Participated in the implementation of the in-house AXA Equitable Annuity system
to the new Vantage Wealth Management Architecture (WMA) platform, which was
developed in COBOL,/CICS/DB2. The following was completed;

•	Set up the new WMA application on AXA’s mainframe.  This included COBOL code
and supporting libraries, JCL, PROCS, CICS components and DB2 databases.
•	Retrofitted customized AXA Equitable code from the old Annuity system to the
new WMA application.
•	Set up six CICS regions and six batch processing environments to be used to
run the new WMA application.
•	Customized all WMA batch JCL and PROCS to run with the AXA naming convention.
•	Tested all WMA CICS and batch functionality in all the new environments.

	Mass Mutual OTA Project

Participated in the conversion of in-house Massachusetts Mutual Universal Life
system to new Vantage OTA (Open Transaction Architecture) platform, which was
developed in COBOL, CICS and DB2.  The following was completed using Mainframe
Express/MICROFOCUS COBOL;

•	Retrofitted customized Mass Mutual code from the old system to OTA.
•	Designed, coded and tested new functionality of the new OTA system.
•	Uploaded all new code to the mainframe and completed verification testing.



	HSBC, Tampa, Florida – 03/2006 to 03/2007
	Senior Analyst Business Systems

            Loyalty Management System (PAYSYS Credit Card Rewards System)

•	Analysis and high level estimation for new Retail Phase II user requirements.
•	Developed functional and technical specifications for new Retail Phase II
functionality.  This included developing new transaction interfaces from PAYSYS
Credit Card and Merchant Settlement systems and improving interface functionality
for Co-Branded credit card transactions.
•	Supervised the Retail Phase II coding and system testing, which was handled by
offshore outsourcing partners.
•	Participated in installation of the Retail Phase II functionality.
•	Participated in the globalization of LMS for our international partners

	MANULIFE, Tampa, Florida – 06/2005 to 12/2005
	Consultant

            Vantage/DSS Integration Project

Merged the MANULIFE and John Hancock Vantage/DSS systems onto one DB2 database
platform at MANULIFE.  The following was completed;

•	Using MICROFOCUS COBOL (Mainframe Express), worked with CSC to retrofit John
Hancock program modifications into new DB2 release of Vantage/DSS.  This included
new DB2 DCLGENS and the modification of many of the DB2 view handlers to
accommodate new data fields.

•	Developed ASI Conversion system to convert and load all John Hancock DSS data
to the new DB2 database.

•	Developed ASI Delta system to keep the new DB2 database in sync with the John
Hancock DSS database during conversion.

•	Developed License/Appointment Conversion system to convert all John Hancock
license and appointment data from the LARS database to the new DB2 database.









John Hancock Vantage/DSS Shutdown

After the integration of the John Hancock and MANULIFE Vantage/DSS systems, it
was necessary to shut down the John Hancock system but, keep it available for
inquiry for a period of time.  The following was completed;

•	Developed programs and processes to make the current systems exist as
Read-Only.

•	Shut down the Vantage nightly batch cycles and shut off all feeds to and from
the Vantage system.

•	Shut off all access to the LARS license/appointment database.

•	Set up a process to archive all pertinent Vantage/DSS database files.


	John Hancock/MANULIFE, Tampa, Florida – 02/2000 to 06/2005
	Lead Systems Analyst

	DSS to PERFORMANCE PLUS Integration

DSS to Performance Plus project team was created to merge the MANULIFE and John
Hancock DSS systems into the Performance Plus replacement system.  Although this
project was later cancelled and replaced with the DSS Integration project, I
completed the following;

•	Data mapping the current Hancock/MANULIFE DSS VSAM database to the new
Performance Plus DB2 database, defining the changes that would need to be
retrofitted.

•	Documented all program modifications that had been made to the John Hancock
version of DSS so they could be analyzed and retrofitted into the integrated
Performance Plus system.

•	Defined processes to load the John Hancock Vantage 11 vendor and
licensing/appointment data to the new Performance Plus database.









	Vantage 15 and DSS System Installation

Lead a team of five programmer analysts that moved the Vantage 15 and DSS
environments to the John Hancock mainframe environment.  The following tasks were
completed;

•	Set up the initial Certification, Model Office and Production mainframe
regions batch regions.

•	Set up the initial Certification, Model Office and Production mainframe CICS
regions.

•	Defined all batch JCL and job related information to allow the application to
run in the Hancock mainframe environment.  This included changing all CSC file
and job names to conform to Hancock standards.

•	Parallel tested the application with CSC in Certification, Model Office and
Production environments.

•	Assumed all development and production support responsibilities after the
application went live.


Development and Maintenance of Vantage Test Environments

Performing as technical lead, I was responsible for initial setup and
maintenance of eight Batch/CICS test environments that were used for development
and maintenance Vantage and DSS.  Two of these environments included multi-file
capabilities.

	LARS/Vantage 15 Integration

Designed, coded and tested modifications made to the Vantage 15 and DSS systems
to perform agent license validation using data from John Hancock’s LARS (License
and Registration System).  MQSERIES messaging was utilized to pass the licensing
requests/replies between the IBM mainframe and the LARS UNIX application.


	Customer Service Workbench (CSWB)

Designed, coded and tested the Vantage 15 Customer Service Workbench
application, which allowed users to access Vantage 15 data from a Windows JAVA
client front end utilizing MQSERIES.  Designed and wrote the various CICS
Server/Service modules to service the following types of requests;

		Product Summary
		Beneficiary
		Fixed and Variable Account Values
		Fixed and Variable History

Vantage 15 Production Support

As a member of the Vantage 15 support team, I was also responsible for all
production support related issues.
	

	GTE TSI, Tampa, Florida – 02/99 to 02/2000
	Consultant

	Performed analysis on the ACCESS Clearinghouse System in order to define
recommendations for improving the system’s performance.  Management approved
recommendations and a formal project was created to implement the system
changes.

	Participated in the Centralized Tables Processing (CTP) project, which
transferred table update transactions between TANDEM, SUN, and IBM platforms
using MQSERIES middleware products.  Worked with the project team in defining all
MQ objects on the various platforms and wrote the initial COBOL code on the
IBM/MVS side to process all incoming MQSERIES messages.

	Coded, tested, and implemented all maintenance routines for the ACCESS
Clearinghouse Rate Edit project.

	Participated in the design and implementation of the initial phase of a three
phase approach to redesign and optimize the ACCESS Clearinghouse system.  This
phase included the redesign of the front end of the application to allow multiple
copies of the system to run concurrently.


	HEALTHPLAN Services, Tampa, Florida - 04/98 to 01/99
	Consultant

	As part of the Data Warehouse team, designed, coded, and installed all
mainframe
Extract programs for the new Data Warehouse system.  Extensive analysis was done
to existing systems in order to determine correct sources of data fields due to
the lack of adequate mainframe documentation.  All extracts were written in COBOL
and accessed a combination of DB2 databases and VSAM files.










	Franklin/Templeton Mutual Funds, St. Petersburg, Florida - 06/96 to 04/98
	Consultant

	Responsible for the design and implementation of the Automated Funds Pricing
	System. The system utilized MQSERIES and CICS Command Level software to 		allow
remote fund pricing data from Franklin/Templeton offices to be transmitted for
	immediate update to the corporate IBM Series 390 mainframe in St. Petersburg.
	  
	Completed a requirements definition to automate the Franklin/Templeton 	
Annuities system.  Multiple alternatives were proposed, including client server
utilizing Visual Basic with ORACLE database and mainframe utilizing COBOL and
CICS.

	GTE Data Services, Tampa, Florida - 01/96 to 05/96
	Consultant

Participated in the initial startup and design of GTE’s National Order
Collection Vehicle           (NOCV) system.  Primary function was to design the
Service Collection process which included interfacing CICS/COBOL online functions
with a predefined business rules database utilizing DB2.  Also designed the
interface of all batch Service Collection transactions and did customization work
on the original business rules database, which was written in Microsoft Access.
	         
            DARCON International, Oldsmar, Florida - 10/95 to 01/96
            Consultant

            Using Microsoft Access Database, automated data processing
activities for
            cigarette distribution company.  This included defining requirements
and writing
            Microsoft GUI code for Order Processing, Purchasing, Receiving,
Inventory Control and  
            Sales Reporting systems.  All systems ran under Windows 3.1.1.

















                 
            IBS Conversions, Largo, Florida - 6/95 to 11/95
            Consultant.

Participated in the conversion of a large Honeywell mainframe to IBM ES-9000. 
Completed the following;

•	Converted all online COBOL programs from Honeywell’s IDS-II to COBOL/CICS/DB2
on the IBM mainframe.  This included customizing all code to accommodate the
differences between the both environments.

•	Tested all programs and validated results against test scripts created on the
Honeywell system.       

•	Was also part of a team responsible for helping other developers with    
            	       problems that occurred with CICS environments.

	T2 Software Services, Tampa, Florida - 6/93 to 6/95
	Consultant to ADVANTIS Corporation.

	As part of a project to determine the viability of POWERBUILDER as a Client
Server development platform, completed the following;
	
•	Installed the complete POWERBUILDER 3.0 Enterprise edition in the Function
Test area.

•	Set up all connectivity between PowerBuilder and the MVS host system via file
servers, which included two completely distinct connections.  The first utilized
IBM's DB2/2 and Client Application Enabler to access all available DB2 tables on
the host.  The second utilized Information Builder's EDA/SQL and EDALINK to
enable us to access DB2, IMS, and VSAM files.

•	Participated in the development of two applications written to determine the
functionality of POWERBUILDER. The first application involved the access of a set
of IMS databases used in ADVANTIS billing system via EDA/SQL.  It demonstrated
the functionality of using POWERBUILDER data-windows to display data with "one to
many" relationships.  The second application was written to access a set of DB2
tables from one MVS host system and load the data to identical tables on a
secondary MVS host system.

•	PowerBuilder was retained as one of the ADVANTIS Client Server development
tools.  I was the primary application support person for the product and worked
with all developers utilizing the product in the Business Systems group.  Duties
included mentoring any developers that were using the product for the first time
as well as answering any technical questions that surfaced.   


	CRITIKON, Tampa, Florida - 4/94 to 5/94
	Independent Consultant

	Utilizing POWERBUILDER, coded and tested the following components for a new
Customer Support system:

•	Functionality to allow Customer Support representatives to enter, prioritize
and track any outstanding tasks related to the Customer Support function.

•	Patient/equipment tracking function, which allowed the user to enter all
pertinent information and print the datawindow on request.

Both of these functions utilized a WATCOM database and were ported over to
ORACLE 
Database on the server.


	AAA Auto Club South, Tampa, Florida - 4/94 to 10/94
	Independent Consultant

            Participated in implementation of Integral Software's General Ledger
system.  Wrote and tested fifteen COBOL programs that were used to convert G/L
data from five feeder systems to the new format needed in the new G/L system. 
Also worked with the project lead in setting up the batch and online portions of
the system.

	Modified twenty-five Emergency Road Service CICS programs to incorporate a new
Membership database.


	CRITIKON, Tampa, Florida - 1/93 to 4/93

	Modified Billing and Inventory systems to allow the corporate system to track
all inventory in its central database.

	Problem analysis and correction for Accounts Payable/Purchasing and General
Ledger systems.

	Enhanced CICS Environment Manager to allow subordinate applications the
