I am currently self-employed as Strassberger Software Training, Inc. Over the
past eleven years I have contracted to deliver courses for Hands On Technology
Transfer (HOTT), New Horizons, Deitel and Associates, American Logistics Group
(ALG), Golden Consulting Group, Arkoa, Sun, Instruction Set, Open Market,
Petronio Technology Group, Micro Center Education, and TEK Systems.
The programming courses are mostly industry standard languages in various
environments. The Open Market courses were for their Java API for their dynamic
web and content management products.
I have consulted at Teletype GPS for software for their Pocket PC-based GPS
system for light aircraft. I proposed user interface improvements and features
such as Victor Airways support for flight plans, computed glide slope, VASI and
turn anticipation.
I have taught C#, C++, C, Java, Visual Basic, OOAD/UML, HTML, JavaScript, XML
and other proprietary courses (Open Market products) across the USA and in Canada
and England.
I co-wrote chapters 2 through 5 (the MFC chapters) of Deitel’s “Getting Started
with Microsoft Visual C++ 6.0 with an introduction to MFC”. I have written C, C++
and Structured Analysis and Design courses and updated C, C++, Compiler Concepts,
Visual Basic, OOAD/UML, Java courses and an OO Design Patterns course specialized
for Java, C++ and C#. I wrote my own Object-Oriented Analysis and Design with the
Unified Modeling Language (OOAD/UML) course and slideshow. I am also a Master
Intel Software Instructor for Parallel Programming.
Prior to starting my own training and consulting business, I had a long career
at Honeywell in compilers, networks and data modeling software development.
Recently, I've been contracting for ASP.NET development using VB and SQL 2005.
I own Piper Turbo Arrow N47912, which I fly to my training locations. I am a
private pilot with an instrument rating. This gives me great flexibility for
travel.
