legislative package; draft bills and amendments; research, prepare substantive
and fiscal analyses of proposed legislation; coordinate with legislative,
Governor's office and other agency staff; prepare legislative summaries and act
as point of contact on substantive legislative issues and questions from outside

Member of the Florida Energy Team and recipient of 2006 Prudential Financial –

8/90--12/94 Florida House of Representatives. From July 1993 until December
1994, analyst for the House Committee on Natural Resources. From August 1990 to
July 1993, Editorial Supervisor for House publications (Calendar, House Journal,
Rules, Democratic and Republican caucuses, and various misc. publications) in the
Clerk's Office. Hired and supervised a team of 7 editors and authored the “House
Style Manual” published by the Florida House. One of only two authors ever
published by Florida’s legislature in over 200 years.
8/1/85—4/1/90 Owner/Operator, 74-bed Adult Congregate Living Facility for
senior citizens and disabled adults.
3/82--8/85 Florida Public Service Commission. Engineer, primarily
responsible for certification of jurisdictional utilities throughout Florida.
Duties included coordination with local governments, report writing on
rate/regulatory/energy/environmental issues; dispute resolution between
developers, utility customers and the PSC; frequent public speaking to consumer
and citizens groups, local governments and PSC hearings.
EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND:
Bachelors, with majors in English and Business Management, minor in Accounting
from FSU. Degree conferred in June 1979. Several additional classes taken,
post-graduate, in geology and communications.
MILITARY EXPERIENCE:
1/72--1/76 United States Air Force Security Service Intelligence Analyst.
Worked with National Security Agency (NSA) as Operations Communications
Supervisor. Stationed in Thailand, Turkey and Greece. Honorable Discharge: 1976.
VOLUNTEER WORK: Guardian ad Litem volunteer since 2002, Outstanding Volunteer
2005, 2006 and 2007. Statewide Treasurer of the Florida Chapter Sierra Club in
2007.
