The Project:
Symantec consumer products reach the end customers through the following
different channels.
- Retail Channel
- OEM Channel
- ISP/SS Channel
In OEM Channel, the various partners include HP, DELL, IBM, SONY etc. When the
partners sell their hardware to the end users, Symantec products are bundled in
the operating system. There will not be separate CDs provided to the end users
those who get these products through the OEM channel. The products that are
obtained through this channel will have a limited license period. Typically, the
duration is kept as 90 days. After that, the product license will expire. The
user needs to pay for registering with the Symantec website for the license
renewal. With out the renewal of the license, user will not get the live updates
from the Symantec websites

The Project:
Microsoft have developed a Client SDK, using which, ISVs can develop
applications (called soft phones) which can make PC-to-PSTN phone calls. The
requirement here is to test this SDK. Most of the SDK is written in C++/COM.
Currently, the project got enhanced to make PSTN calls to PC.Various API are
developed for the same to establish.TestCases Were Written, automated and tested
to test the functionality.
