Provide support in the courtroom as needed by the judge. Prepare all
domestic violence injunctions and orders. Responsible for making court files and
evidence available at hearing. Explain filing procedures to parties. Mark
exhibits and enters as evidence. Follow the events in a case and keep minutes.
Verify accuracy of court file. Swear in jury and witnesses. Maintain case
management and ensure proper disposition of cases in a timely manner. I am the
clerk in the courtroom that services all of the domestic violence injunctions in
Broward County. We hear approximately 50-60 cases per day.
7/2004-8/2005 Court Specialist III Salary: $23,920.00 annually
Filed circuit civil cases in the civil and family law divisions.
Also, issued summonses, writs of attachments, writs of garnishment and other
various supplemental case pleadings required to be issued by the clerk of the
circuit court. Accepted filing fees. Provided customer service to the general
public, attorneys, the judiciary, Broward Sheriff’s Office, and other agencies.
I relinquished this position after being offered and accepting a promotional
position as a Trial Specialist I.
04/2003-07/2004 Court Specialist I Salary: $19,947.20
Received pleadings/correspondence pertaining to case in an assigned
judge’s division within the civil and family divisions of the circuit court.
Entered the information into the clerk’s docketing system. Pleading types
included motions, discovery documents, served summonses/writs, as well as issued
defaults. Provided information to the general public and attorneys regarding the
details of pleadings/ correspondence on the docket. I relinquished this position
after being offered and accepting a promotional position as a Court Specialist
III.
