Software Systems Experience: ASP.NET, VB.NET, .Net Framework, Office
Automation, VBA, SQL Server 2000, HTML, XML, MS Access , ASP, IIS, Crystal
Reports, ADO.net, SQL Stored Procedures
Desired Position/Contract: I would like to find a telecommuting contract
developing/upgrading or enhancing asp.net/vb.net web applications and/or MS
Access applications. I am going to keep telecommuting/programming for Cingular
Wireless, and want to find a full-time, part time position to supplement my
income. I have a system with .net framework / asp.net/ sql server 2000 /ms
access /IIS loaded, which enables me to develop complete web applications
independently. I also have access to web hosting with these same applications to
enable clients to view my work on the internet as I get modules completed.
Strengths: My strengths are my ability to multi-task, work independently,
deliver projects in a timely manner, understand users/clients needs and
communicate effectively with them, as well as my main strength, which is my
ability to quickly debug problems with systems, code, design and find and
implement solutions quickly. I have lots of telecommuting experience and have
proven myself in each of my jobs below as being able to deliver projects on-time
while working from home.
Work Experience: - Cingular Wireless, Inc. April 2001 to Present
Develop corporate websites for the Supply Chain department of Cingular Wireless,
Inc, using ASP, ASP.NET, VB.NET, SQL 2000, Office 2000 Automation, XML, HTML,
IIS, Crystal Reports, and Infragistics Charting. I was the developer for each
piece of the website, from setting up the default web site in IIS to creating the
database in SQL Server 2000, creating the tables and stored procedures in SQL
Server 2000, to creating the asp.net web forms , and finally linking them all
together using vb.net and ADO.net. I created a helpdesk website for the
fulfillment warehouse to track and handle all help tickets for issues from the
field to the warehouse. I also created many reporting websites which imported
data from many different sources of data (from text files to excel spreadsheets)
into a consolidated SQL 2000 database, then report off this data, using a report
presentation layer which I designed in vb.net. I also developed a website to
handle document flow and consolidation for network logistics. I developed MS
Access VBA applications for reporting of all monies spent by Cingular, and an
application to track and report on all vendors assigned to Cingular, by diversity
and product. I am still working with Cingular as a telecommuting programmer. My
boss (Maxine Brown - see below in references) will attest to my
telecommuting/programming abilities.
MCI/WorldCom - 1999 - 2001
Contractor for the Commissions Accounting department for MCI/WorldCom ,
developing SQL 97 Stored Procedures to calculate commissions for most
commissioned employees of MCI/WorldCom. Worked with the Business Analysts to
constantly fine-tune and debug programming issues found when commission
statements were not calculated correctly. This was a constant process, due not
to incompetent programming , but rather to the ever-changing compensation plans ,
the volume of billing systems and data, and the complexity of the compensation
plans themselves. The system that I worked on (which is called SMCS) was
actually a system I designed for MCI many years ago to handle their commissioning
needs when I worked for them previously (see below). This system is still being
used today by Commissions Accounting.
Telecom Cost Control, Inc. 1998 - 1999
Developed an MS Access VBA telecom accounting/auditing and reporting system,
which imported billing and call detail/summary information from all major bell
companies as well as most of the long-distance carriers into a consolidated
database. This application was developed for corporate clients to allow them to
audit and report on all their telecommunication data, from finding erroneous
billing to identifying fraud and rate tariff problems with their bills. It also
incorporated data from their internal switchboards to allow them to divide their
T1 charges into departmental charges based on actual usage of the T1. The system
then saved countless hours in billing by creating AP files which divided each
separate bill into departmental and location allocations based on phone/data/T1
usage and sending this file electronically to their AP department.
MCI 1992 - 1998
Worked as a developer/systems analyst/designer for the Commissions Accounting
department of MCI. While there I developed a Paradox application to pay
commissions to all sales managers of MCI, which was used for several years. I
then became project manager on a project where we redesigned that system (SMCS)
as a client-server application using SQL, C++ and Visual Basic. I developed many
modeling applications which allowed Commissions Compensation to forecast the next
years commission expense based on many different types of compensation models. I
developed many access vba applications to pay various bonus commissions for mci
sales and support staff, as well as management bonuses.
1984 - 1998
Various work experiences: I worked for accounting firms for approximately 5
years as a micro-computer consultant, where I installed and trained users on
accounting systems for clients. I worked as a software trainer for various
computer training companies in Atlanta and Tallahassee, where I developed
training classes and taught office products and programming classes. I spent
some time (about 2 years) as a software sales person, selling library software
and banking software.
College Experience:
Columbus College, Columbus, GA: 1980 - 1982 Music Performance Major
Valdosta State College, Valdosta, GA 1982 - 1984 Computer Science Major

importing and reporting web application.
