Objective: Seeking a challenging and rewarding experience with a
telecommunications company, software, networking or research & development group
that I can have a positive impact towards the over all goals.
Experience: - Valdosta Coin Operated Machines (VCOM)
Currently hold an electronic technician position. My duties include setting up,
maintaining and troubleshooting commercial video games, pinball, pool tables,
amplifiers, juke boxes and our internal LAN. Some games require pc maintenance
and troubleshooting as they are ran by a computer. Others require board level
repair where I will have to desolder parts after determining they’re bad and
solder in new ones. Also, I run a collection route to collect money out of the
machines.
- Broadband Networking Experience: - Scientific Atlanta
My responsibilities were to travel from site to site in the U.S. and Canada,
perform digital network equipment installations, server and router
configurations, troubleshooting, upgrades and maintenance for our Unix based
network & the Digital Network Control System (DNCS) to enable cable companies to
sell digital cable. Also,
• Worked closely with third party vendors to ensure a smooth integration with
third party equipment.
• Provided technical support to the customer for our various platforms &
products.
• Serves as “Subject Matter Expert” (SME) to aid in the development of training
and product support documentation.
• Conversed with Engineering and other departments to resolve technical issues
that required a coordinated effort between the departments and my project site.
• Track, escalate, and report weekly project status/feedback to management and
peers.
- US Marines MOS 4066 - Network/PC Specialist – 4063 – COBOL Programmer
Some duties included:
• End user management; adding, deleting, moving, access, education and etc…
• Network management; nodes, servers, routers, upgrades, patches, expansion,
troubleshooting, repair and maintenance.
• PC’s, to include issuing, installing/removing software/hardware, making
network ready, troubleshooting, repair and maintenance.
• New software and hardware testing, documentation and training.
Education:
• Currently enrolled at Valdosta Technical College in the Networking Degree
program. At this time I am taking the Network+ class and will get certified at
the end of the quarter.

Core classes towards a networking degree, and two qtrs of Cisco
networking (CCNA)
• 1998 – 2000 Scientific Atlanta Institute
Was trained on Digital networking for digital cable headends to include
training in Cisco, Informix, clarify & spectrum network monitoring.
• 1990 – 1998 Quantico, VA. US Military Computer Science School
(various times between these years) At different times I was trained in
COBOL, Natural and Dbase programming, Unix, Network Security, Network
Administration and Pc repair.
Personal Information:
I am a former Marine of nine years. I was an (E6) Staff Sergeant upon my
release. I have two sons, sixteen and eleven years old. I like outdoor
activities, chess, NASCAR, teaching, brain teasers, college football and more. I
am a self starter and enthusiast and can thrive on a team or on my own.
