to ensure they complete without abnormal termination.
FedEx Freight, Colorado Springs, Colorado (10/03 1/04)
Senior Programmer/Analyst responsible for developing Management Lane tracking
system using COOLGEN. Front end GUI screens are developed using COOLGEN and the
back end codes are generated via GEN. This involved the tracking of the drivers
route and where the driver was at the time of retrieval. Example: If the driver
is actually on the road or resting or back in Domicile.
Yellow Freight, Overland Park, Kansas (8/03 10/03)
Consultant, responsible for developing a Bill Tracking System that tracks truck
route, loading and unloading activities. This involved in looking up a
drivers id as the key and retrieving all the routes the driver took to pickup
and deliver goods. Also 5 batch programs to produce reports of drivers stops as
well as the merchandise list.
United Parcel Service, Mahwah, NJ (11/96 6/03)
Senior Consultant responsible for developing the Customer Action Response System
(CARES) that tracks and maintains customer and UPS driver calls to a Customer
Service Representative. CARES is a three-tier client/server system written in
Visual BASIC under Windows NT interfacing with mid range AS400's and an IBM
3090.
Wrote technical documentation and specifications from functional design
documents created by Business Analysts
Developed COBOL, DB2, CICS and MQ Series programs to create, track and
maintain messages from drivers and customers, create new customer profiles, and
track delivery status
Wrote unit and integration test scripts for CARES programs, tested the
programs and promoted programs to quality assurance after testing was complete
Tuned all embedded SQL statements used within the application for maximum
performance to ensure they were using the proper indexes to access the data
Setup FTP jobs to transfer CARES data between NT server to Mainframe and
Mainframe to NT server and to the WEB server
Developed a Governor program to determine the number of MQ messages residing
in the queue and then release a certain number of transactions to be executed in
CICS. Queried TCLASS and MAX task from CICS to determine the number of
transactions that should be released. This process eliminated the performance
degradation of MQ messages being backed up in the queue.
Wrote an MQ Monitor program within MQ Manager to determine if any queue had
allowed more than the number of messages that should have been released and if
the transactions were reading the queue. If no transactions were reading the
queue then an alert was sent to the console to page application support and the
systems support staff through Tivoli
Developed the system to assign the unique UPS 1Z tracking numbers. The system
holds all pickup messages in a holding queue until a stream of batch programs
retrieves each message from the queue, breaks up the messages to determine how
many packages are contained within a pickup and assigns individual tracking
number to each package. Also created files from this process to transfer to
billing system and to the tracking system
Wrote over 50 REXX programs to be used by the development team and quality
assurance team including programs to do mass compiles whenever a new release is
done, programs to create test data for each release, programs to allocate
datasets and to create multiple files from one file
Provided CARES production support 24 hours per day on a rotation schedule.
