EXPERIENCE

Business Systems Consultant (Technical Project Manager) – DHL (July 2005 -
Present).  Responsible for the seamless integration of DHL’s shipping system
products into the IT infrastructure of their highest profile ($3M to $5M)
customers.  This customer relationship oriented role requires strong consulting,
integration, quality assurance, project management and business analysis skills
for a broad range of stakeholder audiences.  The ability to provide technical and
business recommendations, define timelines, developed and executed project plans
utilizing virtual DHL and customer resources are a staple.   Technical support
and problem resolution is also a part of the service responsibilities. Operating
systems include Windows (XP and Server) and UNIX.   Database technology includes
SQL Server, MYSQL, Oracle, Access, Paradox, Visual FoxPro, DB2; and Excel based
files utilizing both JDBC and OBDC connectivity. Customer technologies integrated
include Pkms, WMS, MOM and other ERP systems.  Other software tools utilized
include Microsoft Project, BCP, JDBC Mapping, DB Visualizer, Crystal Reports, Log
Me In Rescue and other remote access products, .Net, Java, JavaScript and XML.

Database Manager (Database Quality Analyst/Project Manager), Clark Atlanta
University (CAU) (Oct 2003 - July 2005). Within the Office of Institutional
Planning, Assessment and Research, responsible for data architecture, integrity,
and quality assurance as related to data and databases products.  Responsible for
database architecture and development in support CAU's successful Reaffirmation
of Accreditation with the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools as well as
an institutional data warehouse in Oracle 10g.   Also responsible for the design
and development of databases for use with web based (.Net) products.   Created
test plans and scenarios for debugging and certifying university developed web
sites. Served as project manager for key campus wide initiatives and served as a
technical resource the universities’ constituencies.  Selected, purchased,
institutionalized and maintained the OPAR (DELL rack mounted) server for the data
warehouse and reaffirmation use and managed graduate research assistant staff (3
to 7 students).  Utilized software products such as  SCT BANNER, ORACLE 8i/9i ,
Oracle 10g (with ODW Builder/ETL), Crystal Reports, TOAD, MS ACCESS, Excel,
PowerPoint, MS Word, SQL, ODBC connectivity, SQL Plus, Microsoft Project and
Windows Server/XP.

Software Quality Assurance Manager, CheckFree Corporation (Jan. 2001 – Oct
2003). Key stakeholder/owner of quality assurance process related to Checkfree’s
core Electronic Bill Payment System (EBP) and its use by financial institutions.
Acted as the gate keeper as related to the CheckFree EBP product offerings
functioning as technical writer, technical project manager, business analyst,
configuration manager, release manager and personnel manager for quality
assurance resources within the Six Sigma rated environment.  Owned the company’s
User Acceptance Testing (UAT) process and was involved in concept to consumer
initiatives such as kiosks and alternative bill payment methodology.  Monitored
departmental budget, estimate expenditures and provide current fiscal year to
date statistics.   Utilized software tools such as MS Office, PowerPoint, QMF,
Platinum, Visual SourceSafe, Endeavor, FileAid, Microsoft Project, CA-7, IBM
Utilities, and TSO/ISPF in this IBM Mainframe DB2/CICS/COBOLII and UNIX..

Data Content Manager / QA Analyst - BellSouth Marketing IS (MKIS) (Oct. 2000 -
Jan. 2001) Provided technical project management, data warehouse/operational data
stores (ODS) /data marts (DM) support and development as well as quality
assurance support related to MKIS data reports and products.   Created data
dictionaries, test plans, strategic reports  and performed data mining in support
of MKIS executives.  Support tools and software included BRIO, GQL, Oracle 7.3
and Oracle 8,  SQL, Queryman and Data Architect in a Windows NT/Unix based
environment. 

Team Lead- Crawford and Company (Aug. 1998-Oct. 2000) - Provided technical team
leadership, supervision and management expertise in the areas of resource
management, business analysis/assessment, programming, quality assurance,
problem/defect resolution and production control.  Was also responsible for
software releases, upgrades, change control and source control as related to the
company's claims processing and risk management systems. Duties included
technical project management, performance metrics compilation, SLA standards
reporting/assessment, software development and quality assurance testing in a
systems development life cycle (SDLC) / SEI CMM 3 oriented environment.
Documented and reviewed requirements; facilitated business user meetings;
provided to executive management a daily status assessment and report. Authored
and implemented the department's first quality assurance process and procedures.
Facilitated walkthroughs, wrote software programs, and served as mentor to junior
and mid-level staff developers as well.  Some tool utilized in this IBM Mainframe
environment were:  VSAM, JCL, PROCEDURES, JCLCHECK, JCLPREP, CICS, DB2, RACF,
FILEAID, COBOL/COBOL II, DB2, Easytrieve Plus, Adabas Natural, SQL, QMF, VISIO,
MS ACCESS, MS Office, Lotus Notes and  ABT Workbench 

QA Tester (GTE, February 1998-August 1998)  Supporting the GTE cellular customer
billing markets, responsible for project management, business analysis,
requirements gathering, technical writing, systems analysis, data architecture
(client data formats, transmissions and receipt) alongside development and other
stakeholders. Created and processed software release packages staging them into
production, as well as creating and executing test plans and scripts in this full
systems life cycle environment.  Some of the tools used were ISPF, VSAM, JCLCHK,
INFOMAN, Mobil Track, Endeavor, FILEAID, CICS, COBOL, COBOL II, SAVRS, CA-7 and
CA-11. 

CONSULTANT (Butler Technologies, November 1997-February 1998) 
With MCI, was responsible for internet service billing and invoicing.  Validated
and maintained customer data warehoused in an ORACLE 7.3 database.  Architecture
included IBM Mainframe and the Unix based IBM SP2 (UNIX/AIX, ORACLE, PRO*C,
PL/SQL) as well as HTML and light PERL as well as MCI’s proprietary web based
products.  Performed end to end quality assurance testing and in conjunction with
the DBA worked through data related issues whenever ORACLE tuning and integrity
issues arose.  

SYSTEMS CONSULTANT (COMSYS, December 1994-November 1997) 
On this airline based automated rules system with SITA,  my responsibilities
included business analysis, technical writing,  data validation, conversion and
storage; business forecasting; requirements gathering and  technical expertise as
we reengineered IBM mainframe source code to that of the destination host. I
performed unit and systems integration quality assurance testing. Products
included: VISIO, Microsoft Project / Niku Workbench and Excel.  



LEAD SYSTEMS ENGINEER (LITTON COMPUTER SERVICES, April 1992 - January 1994) 
Duties included requirements gathering, creating technical documentation;
developing and maintaining COBOL programs for the US Air Force.  Hosted scope and
requirements sessions to capture detailed specifications as well.. Responsible
for system analysis and development,  quality assurance and business analysis. 

SYSTEMS ENGINEER (EDS, January 1990 - April 1992)  
Performed duties within the full systems development life cycle process (SDLC)
in support of General Motors (in COBOL and PL/1). . Served as a business analyst,
technical writer, data analyst, systems analyst, project manager and systems
engineer on various GM Insurance Corporation projects (both in the US and
Canada). Established project work plans and estimates (project management and
ownership); performed unit tests, system tests and quality assurance tests as
well in this client-facing opportunity.

PROGRAMMER/ANALYST (INFORMS, January 1988 - January 1990) / January 1994 –
December 1994) Duties included requirements gathering, creating technical
documentation; developing and maintaining COBOL/COBOL II/DB2/IMS/CICS and batch
programs in both mainframe (IBM) and client server (RISC 6000) environments. 
Software products included FileAid, ROSCOE, ISPF/TSO, JCL, CICS, DB2, ADABAS,
ISAM, VI, VSAM, IBM Utilities, Panvalet, QMF, and CORE. In addition, performed
unit, quality assurance and system integration tests and prepared and formatted
data for EDI transmission. 

SYSTEM SUPPORT ANALYST/ASSOCIATE SYSTEMS ANALYST/SYSTEMS ANALYST (UNISYS
(Sperry) Corporation, July 1984 - December 1988) - Technical systems support and
the development of a prototype system for the Air Force.  Performed requirements
gathering and documentation, business analysis, and system analysis; database
evaluations, PC technical design and development in ORACLE.  Duties included
designing/creating screen inputs, technical writing, and programming in COBOL
