OBJECTIVE
To obtain a challenging, long-term position that utilizes my skills and
experience in database-driven internet engineering, design, and administration.
SUMMARY
I am a software engineer with more than four years of solid and diverse
experience in conceptualizing, designing, and implementing high-availability
products in such diverse areas as industrial process control, editorial content
management, and SaaS market intelligence delivery. My focus is on using open
source stacks to deliver cost-effective, efficient, secure, and reliable
solutions for technology needs as they arise.
My experience encompasses the entire software development process, including
conceptual product design, backend system configuration and administration,
product development, security auditing and hardening, product testing and
revision, and release maintenance and support. I work closely with the Online
Product Director, the IT Manager, and various department directors to identify
technology needs and opportunities, product specifications, and development
schedules. Additionally, I have shared responsibility for training and educating
non-technical users, as well as hiring, training, and supervising junior
developers.
I have assumed responsibility for installing, configuring, optimizing, securing,
and maintaining all WAMP servers and their underlying components, and am
conversant in Unix/Linux administration, as well. I am responsible for the
technical implementation and coding of enterprise projects such as the
purpose-built search engine shared between our editorial sites serving 7000 page
views per day, as well as paid SaaS market intelligence services serving hundreds
of corporate user pools, and generating substantial revenue, that deliver 99.9%
uptime.
