M1 Global/Nexxlinx, 2004-Present Position: Network Engineer
Designed, deployed and maintained multi-state call center support IP/VOIP
network with multiple Internet and private interconnections (Cisco, proprietary
VOIP). Ordered, installed, and maintained circuits, switches, and all server
components for a 24x7 operations environment. Provided oncall support.
Pathfire, 2003 Position: Consulting Software Design/Development
Designed and implemented highly scalable network protocol for relaying program
communications through client customer firewall environments. Created baseline
implementations on Solaris, Linux, Windows 2000 and NT4. Trained maintenance
programming resources.
Ricochet Networks, 2002-2003 Position: Technical Lead, MCDN Systems
Recovered software and other technical intellectual property assets and built
into maintainable form. Provided subject matter expertise on IP/RF systems and
software. Assisted in the review and valuation of patent assets.
Enron Broadband Services, 2000-2001 Position: VP Network Engineering, Lead
Network Architect
Hired and led a team of optical and IP engineers responsible for the planning
and deployment of a nationwide/European OC-48 (Lucent, Cisco) backbone optical
network to support broadband products and services. Optimized network to support
several diverse applications: Internet streaming video, broadcast quality video
via IP network, wavelength and private line services. Supported budgeting and
purchasing activities through performance monitoring, capacity planning, and
testing of prospective equipment and IOS releases/switch software releases.
Competent with network management and monitoring tools (HP Openview).
Level 3 Communications 1999-2000 Position: Senior Director, Technical Services
Responsible for all sales engineering activity in the US market. Supported
deals up to 40MM in size. Led staff of 20 sales engineers deployed nationwide.
Evaluated customer networks, established needs and opportunities, matched the
customer to the portfolio of services available, and assisted sales staff in
closing business.
Epoch Networks, Inc (Epoch Internet) 1996-1998 Position: Director of Network
Architecture
Responsible for the design of Epoch's backbone network. Provided strategic
direction, including telecommunications negotiations; peering negotiations;
hardware procurement, evaluation, and deployment; and capacity planning.
Responsible for the testing and implementation of new software releases on
router platforms; responsible for design and implementation of flow-based
billing data collection systems; responsible for design and implementation of
volume-based billing data collection systems; responsible for design of OSPF and
BGP network configurations; responsible for leading cross-functional teams for
research and development with respect to the integration of new vendor
architectures, as well as in-house products.
Internet Atlanta, Inc. - 1993-1996 Position: Founder, VP - Network
Founded Internet Atlanta, the first local ISP in the Atlanta market to provide
dedicated Internet access to high-end corporate client base. Performed sales,
marketing, engineering, provisioning, technical support, and back office
functions during start-up phase of business. Negotiated contracts with
telecommunications and hardware vendors, including resale and volume commitments.
Built network engineering and systems engineering staff. Acquired financing for
business growth. Provided consulting on Internet business development to
independent telephone and utility companies.
Mese Software, Inc. - 1987-1993 Position: President/Owner
Developed specialized software applications for medical research and clinical
laboratory communities. Co-patented a system of software and fluorescent
micro-particles for calibration of flow cytometers. Developed ground-breaking
software algorithms for identification of clusters of specific tagged antibodies
in flow cytometric data. These algorithms were used by the Center for Disease
Control (CDC), Johns Hopkins University, Food and Drug Administration, and the
Canadian Federal Center for AIDS Research.
