EXPERIENCE:

January 2009 to Present
AT&T GSI- U.S. Marine Corp. Department of Defense Logcom C4
Senior Software Development Engineer – Programming Manager (Same position as
below but with a different contracting company)
•	Perform analysis to translate detailed technical specifications from Logistics
Support Division Application Support Request Form into specific applications
based on customer’s specific business requirements. Occasionally we convert class
2 jobs to production jobs to resolve execution timing issues and house all
production jobs in the same libraries.
•	Design, write, test, debug and maintain all applicable software applications
in COBOL, Natural or Adabase programming languages for Item Applications, TDMS,
MOWASP, Provisioning and STRAT.
•	Customize commercial software to meet specific customer requirements.
•	Develop and document all procedures.
•	Resolve any system deficiencies through testing and debugging. Jobs
occasionally complete with return codes that are not equal to zero (successful)
and we are charged with researching the cause and plan of action to correct these
inconsistencies.
•	Implement any new system software updates and changes. As acceptable values
change for different fields, we are asked to update these values and also any
related code for online and batch programs.
•	Maintain or modify all applicable reusable components in an effort to reduce
expenditures.
•	Formulated programming specifications based on customer specific needs and
requirements. Business specifics are routed to us through the Remedy Request
tracking system. We take the specs from here, perform analytical work and then
meet with the customer to discuss options and objectives that are applicable to
their request.
•	Designed new or existing software for customized client software applications.
We have been asked to rewrite older Natural programs in COBOL programs. Many
small Natural programs can be combined into one COBOL program which decreases
runtime and minimizes the use of system resources.
•	Consulted with customers to present system analysis and detailed documentation
of facts. Often times, the customer is not aware of the options that are
available to them and once we have performed the appropriate analysis, we clarify
their request before proceeding with any updates and/or changes.
•	Maintained Production and User Testing environments.
•	Analyze existing software applications for improvement opportunities. Some
systems in Logcom were created prior to the true understanding of VSAM files.
Hence, multiple DD statements are sometimes placed in JCL to read these files
when only one is required. A complete rewrite of said programs would be required
to truly take advantage of the VSAM file capabilities.

December 2007 to December 2008
U.S. Marine Corp. Department of Defense Logcom C4

communication. Occasionally, production jobs abend and we provide immediate fixes
for such errors along with email documentation, phone calls providing information
as well as updates to the appropriate Sharepoint data.
•	Performed analysis and gathered data for all life cycle processes and
systems.
•	Ensure that all applications are consistent with customer data environments.
•	Designed new or existing software for customized client software applications.
