Curator of Film and Director of Doris Duke Theatre, Honolulu Academy of Arts,
Honolulu, Hawaii
Research, coordinate, schedule, and oversee all duties involving the theater
programs, including the concert, lecture and writer's programs, including Art in
a Thousand Words or Less. Plan, organize, and curate program of groundbreaking
international, and independent films, including Friends of Film Friday. Invite
guest speakers and filmmakers, and manage memberships and sponsorships for
Friends of Film Friday. Organize six annual international film festivals. Write
grants and develop sponsorships for all the theater programs. Write copy and
oversee design for all marketing materials, including theater brochure, website
and e-mail newsletter. Create, manage, track, and oversee the theater budget
revenue and expenses for all theater programs. Plan and devise promotional and
marketing strategies for the theater. Oversee sponsorships and grant writing for
theater. Coordinate marketing material distribution. Manage and schedule staff
members and interns. Collaborate with curators to implement film, concert, and
lecture programs to support museum exhibitions. Work closely with Development and
Communications departments to fund the theater and build partnerships with

Massachusetts with a focus on interactive journals and writing across the

series by writing and sending out promotional materials, arranging interviews on
radio stations, and reviews in local papers. Analyzed attendance and success rate
of programs and created marketing strategies for upcoming programs. Managed a
$92,000 budget. Created a yearly strategic plan and budget for Public Programs.
