OTL order processing system. Total rebuild of order processing system for new
platform.
This program searches for orders that are ready for processing, organizes the
components based
on part and supplier and makes XML. The XML is then sent to the supplier. It
then searches for
updates on existing orders, including the invoicing information. This
information is provided as
XML. The application uses XML DOM to pull data from the return XML and does
updates where
necessary. Cold Fusion code running inside of Blue Dragon ( a .NET platform )
using
SQL Server 2005, T-SQL and Stored Procedures. Some AJAX on the front end as well
as Jquery.
Fulfillment Support System. Total rebuild of 8 fulfillment applications that are
used to process
the companies complex products. These are products that require multiple parts
and/or multiple
vendors and thus require manual processing. Applications in this category have
the following
functions:
Update and track the status of incoming parts.
Produce nitecards and *.csv files to track special parts going to outside
vendors.
Produce and manage Purchase Orders for outside vendors.
Report on supply chain flow in the fulfillment system.
Image Export Program I and II. Visual Basic executables that looks for full
sized images which
are ready to be burned to media and sent to the supplier for printing. For
purposes of data integrity
the application does a physical inventory of the images on the server and
updates any
inconsistencies. It then compares the remaining media size with the size of the
download and
copies the images to the media. Because the original software platform was split
into two markets,
there are two separate Image Export programs. The new platform is remote to the
server with
the images so the program uses a C# web service with SOAP to get and update the
data.

scheduled job on

This application queries Teleflora's database for products to include in their
feed to Amazon.

Three versions of this program run as scheduled jobs on the server. Each is
customized for a
particular web property. This application processes reminders that are set up by
customers of
Teleflora and are sent based on the event date and the number of days prior to
the event that the
consumer has requested to be reminded.

This company builds highly customized software for large mortgage bankers. The
application is
basically a highly complex CMS system that interfaces heavily with outside
providers and included
analytics tools to provide business intelligence from data. Heavy emphasis on
transfer and
styling of XML documents.
The main CMS product is highly customized for each vendor using a combination of
classic
ASP with VBScript and Javascript. Proprietary objects are used heavily along
with XML
that is consumed from web services and combined with data from a variety of
sources.
The product is basically an automated underwriting tool and it relies heavily on
business logic
which is a combination of proprietary formulas and client specific requirements.
This logic is
often done within database objects. This software had to be highly secure due to
it's target
industry and code was checked for security standards.
The newer product from this company is the XMS which is written in ASP.NET with
C#. It uses a
series of configuration files to load modules into a single page. Heavy
consumption of web services
using SOAP. Creation of code modules written in ASP.NET and C#.
