UNIX application. Previously, for sixteen months, tested client-server (Uniface,
Oracle) database access software for quality assurance of the Transuranic
Reporting, Inventory and Processing System (TRIPS) project. Wrote HTML,
Javascript, MySQL, and PHP for a dynamic intranet page with database access on a
Linux Apache web server. Wrote CGI PERL scripts and HTML an intranet site using a
graphical library to produce bar charts interactively (Sun Solaris server).
Designed intranet page for INEEL Institute journal request web page HTML and
associated CGI PERL scripts to process forms (Sun Solaris server). Year-2000
quality assurance planning of the Advanced Test Reactor simulator. Also trained
on TSRI tools for Year-2000 assessment and remediation. Revised
Uninterruptable-Power-Supply control software for network of Sun Ultrasparc
stations that involved working with (Solaris) Unix shell scripts and third-party
software. Concurrently co-instructed an Idaho State University course, NS&E
587/487 Medical Applications in Engineering and Physics, the Spring semesters of
1999 and 2001. 
 Medical Knowledge Engineer at Quality Standards in Medicine (QSM) a subsidiary
of Health Management Systems (HMS) Boston, MA. Full-time 40 hrs./wk., Jan. 1992
to Sep. 1997. Developed user interface for medical expert system and database
access used in hospitals. Developed editing and debugging tools and development
environment for a proprietary 4GL. Developed software in C, C++, Java, Clipper,
and proprietary 4GL for PC DOS, Windows, and OS/2. Network Administrator for
Netware 4.1 based LAN with DOS, WIN, OS/2 clients.
 Post-doctoral Fellowship in Medical Informatics, University of Utah, SLC, UT,
Dec. 1990 to Jun. 1991. DOS and UNIX software design of a physician's workstation
to interface with the HELP system at LDS Hospital. Continued work (Jun. 1991 -
Dec. 1991) after fellowship ended until taking position with Quality Standards in
Medicine (QSM).
 Assistant Professor, College of Engineering, Idaho State University, Pocatello,
ID. Full-time 40 hrs./wk., Aug. 1985 to Jun. 1986. Lectured, instructed 8086
microprocessor labs, prepared/graded exams/homework and met with students for
three courses each semester. Served as advisor to ten students and as a member of
the curriculum committee.
 Design Engineer at American Microsystems, Inc. in Pocatello, ID. Full-time 40
hrs./wk. from Sep. 1980 to Aug. 1985. Designed custom integrated circuits in NMOS
and CMOS VLSI. Completed seven projects consisting of logic and circuit design,
simulation, and testing. Quoted new projects, negotiated specifications with
customers, built and tested breadboard prototypes, evaluated CAD workstation
software, and reviewed the work of several peer engineers. Supported the initial
work on analog and digital standard cells. President of the internal AMI CAD
workstation user's group. Received four awards for excellence in design out of
