Software Design Engineer
HP is a global company specializing in printers, scanners, copiers, personal
computers, servers, network management software, digital cameras and calculators,
among other technology related products. The Boise office is one of the printer
divisions of HP which mainly constitutes the Imaging and Printing Group (IPG) and
the LaserJet Marketing Group.

Responsibilities
•	Provided timely rolls of Software Development Kits(SDKs) for current HP
products.
•	Fixed defects and added new features to already released SDKs which included
extensive coding in JAVA, C++ and XML.
•	Built and packaged SDK rolls in LINUX environment using Clearcase.
•	Worked with test engineers to get SDK rolls qualified.
•	Designed several SQL queries while managing and updating Data Information
Management Systems (DIMS).

During this time several projects involving scanner and engine emulators of HP
Multi Function Printers (MFPs) were designed and implemented.
Responsibilities
•	Responsible for the re-architecture and release of first HP LaserJet M4730
2.6(gentoo) emulator.
•	Proposed, designed and implemented the automated qualification of Scanner
emulation and Engine emulation for Edgeline and Canon based products using
Clearcase and PATT. Qualification process included unit testing, regression
testing, integration testing and black-box testing. 
•	Automated the build and release process for Scanner and Engine emulation for
Edgeline and Canon based products using Clearcase, UNIX shell scripts and CRON.
•	Designed and implemented Integration tests for Edgeline Scanner Analyzer.
•	Responsible for reverse engineering scanner signals to help understand
emulation plan for MFP’s scanner.
•	Analyzed tools and came up with good practices and process improvements.

This position involved several SDK projects for MFPs using JAVA and C++ with
their HP client. 
Responsibilities
•	Responsible for working with third party developers to provide them with
technical solutions for HP high-end LaserJet printers on Chai Software
Development Kits (SDK), Chai Digital Send Enablers (DSE), Input-Output Filters
(IOFs), PCL and PJL.
•	Provided support for native and dynamic SDKs using Java and XML.
•	Added features to ChaiVM to enhance the functionality of Multifunction
printers (MFPs) in JAVA, C++ and XML.


Larsen & Toubro Ltd., India, Bombay(Mumbai)

Engineering Intern
Larsen & Toubro Limited (L&T) is India's largest engineering and construction
conglomerate with additional interests in electricals, electronics and IT. A

This project involved the design and development of a web-based IT Requirements
Handling System using JavaScript, ASP and VBScript, that kept track of various
resources requested by an employee for his work. 
Responsibilities
•	Extensively used ASP and JavaScript to implement web interfaces so that
employees could order resources that he/she would need.
•	Used MS-Access database at the backend to retrieve, store, update and
consolidate information about the resources ordered.
•	Incorporated an email-integration module using MS-SMTP service and Internet
Information Server in case the managers of the employees have to be notified
about the requests placed by his sub-ordinates.

Hardware Design Engineer (Telecommuting)
Radian Solutions LLC is a IT Consulting company established in 1998, offering
contract, temp-to-perm and full-time personnel to public and private
organizations. 
These projects in the field of Hardware involved designing and implementation of
Alarm clock, Data rate converter and a Bus Arbiter in VHDL and a remote
controlled car on a PIC microcontroller.

Design and Implementation of a Remote controlled car using a PIC
microcontroller.	
•	Designed a remote controlled car using IR receiver and transmitter, which
could be operated using any universal remote control.
•	The PIC microcontroller was programmed in assembly to recognize the received
bit pattern and transmit appropriate bits.
•	The transmitted bits would then be responsible to drive the mechanical DC
motors for the car to move in a specified direction.
•	The PIC was programmed using TeraTerm Pro and MPLAB.
Design and Implementation of an Alarm clock in VHDL/Verilog				
•	Designed an Alarm clock using behavioral model, and used
ModelSim/Xilinx-Project Navigator for simulation/synthesis.
•	The JTAG file was downloaded on to a Xilinx-Spartan3 chip to verify the
functionality on a 7-segment Display.
Implementation of a Data Rate Converter in VHDL/Verilog				
•	Custom designed and implemented a Data Rate Converter that converted input
data at 66MHz to output data at 40MHz.
•	Designed in several modules (data sampler, signal rate converter,
pulse-synchronizer) and implemented as state-machines.
•	Integrated modules at top-level and simulated with a test bench. Used
ModelSim/Xilinx-Project Navigator for simulation/synthesis.
Design and implementation of a Bus Arbiter using the Round-Robin arbitration
protocol in VHDL/Verilog 										
•	Designed, implemented and tested a four node, four-bit wide bus using
“tri-state” buffers. 
•	Round-Robin protocol was used to decide the priority, which was implemented as
a Moore machine. 
•	ModelSim and Xilinx-Project Navigator were used for simulation and synthesis.

Graduate Thesis:

In partial fulfillment of MS in Computer Engineering degree, a thesis on
Hardware Implementation of Finite State Machine (FSM) Watermarking Technique was
written.
Details
•	Implemented the Input Comparison Watermarking technique using VHDL in Xilinx
ModelSim.
•	The algorithm is based on the concept of coinciding transitions which makes it
a robust watermarking technique.
•	The implementation was verified on the IWLS93 Benchmark circuits.
•	The input and output to the design were FSMs in a KISS2 text file format.
•	File read write functionality of VHDL was used for retrieving and updating the
FSMs. 
•	The output was again converted to a synthesizable VHDL sequential code using a
Kiss2-to-VHDL converting tool.
•	The watermarked FSM was synthesized using Xilinx-Project Navigator.
