Enterprise Business Solution (EBS) Staff Business Analyst-Track Lead 2003 –
2009
Led the analysis, design, development, training, and deployment of Oracle
(11.5.10) Inventory Application segment. Managed 2 Oracle consultants.
Part of an $800 million Enterprise project to deploy Oracle applications
corporate wide.
* Deployed Oracle Applications Inventory module at 3 sites including flagship
Davenport as part of $80 million project. Implemented on time, with no issues,
under aggressive timelines, while working on multiple phases of the project
simultaneously. Collaborated with multi disciplined teams (Finance, Planning,
Shipping, OM, Quality, MES, Product and Mfg. Engineering,). Reduced inventory
25%. Reduced costs 5% by increasing recycling.
* Data Conversions: Performed required setups and conversions of items/product,
and related data up to 6 times as it moved through all deployments under
extremely short delivery schedules. This required inventory module expertise,
collaborative site involvement, and extreme attention to detail.
* Earned “CIO IS Leadership Award” recognizing EBS deployment providing Global
Rolling Mill solution for the corporation.
Oracle Applications EBS Project-System Administrator, 2001 - 2003
Performed EBS Oracle Applications System administrator function for the business
unit. This included creating menus and responsibilities for all tracks on the
project, handling Security requests-logons, multi-instance environment,
preparation for bulk loads and migrations for instance cloning, as well as,
interacting with Corporate to achieve business unit requirements for
implementations and deployments.
* Successfully performed all Oracle applications system administration functions
to enable progression through the life cycle from analysis to deployment for San
Antonio site, with tight time lines. San Antonio was the first deployment and
much of this had never been done before.
* Formalized Oracle System Administration Processes and Procedures while using
the system administration position to learn about the Oracle Applications
software the team was deploying. Led to promotion to Inventory Track Lead on the
project.
* Hired and trained replacement during start up of Davenport Implementation.
Senior Project Analyst, 1999 - 2001
Selected hardware and software, installed, configured, administered, supported,
upgraded production and development systems.
* Selected and deployed Remedy Help Desk Action Request system
project-client/server application. Trained hourly maintenance, operators, and
departmental LAN managers in its use. Recorded trouble calls and installation
requests for phones, computers, network, air conditioners, as well as
installation and move requests.
* Selected and deployed an online reporting system for Davenport-Windows NT
Server app, later upgraded to Windows 2000 server, SQL Server.
* LAN Manager for-Business Unit Headquarters, IT, EBS, Top Management
departments.
Computer Operations Supervisor, 1987 - 1999
Managed computer operations for Davenport location—multi computer site Vax,
Unisys, HP, UPS’s, 24x7 operation, supervision, interaction with Corporate.
Managed multi-million dollar equipment selections, installations, moves, and
cutovers. Supervised a staff of up to 10, including operators, decollators, data
entry staff.
* Improved uptime from 89% to 99.7% by installing dual failover Uninterruptible
Power Supply and generator, as well as, analyzing and addressing other causes.
* Earned award for performing a hardware and software mainframe upgrade project
with only 30 minutes downtime for production.
* Selected, set up, and administered automatic computer jobs scheduling software
to allow operator downsizing, improve batch job schedule time and accuracy.
* Accelerated month end closing from 3 days to 1 by analysis of batch schedule
as part of a corporate initiative.
* Converted manual reel-to-reel tape system to semi-automatic cartridge system
significantly cutting operator time spent on tape interaction.
