Teleworker. Recruited to upgrade and replace existing IBM Tivoli Interface
Server with a newer enhanced and more efficient version. This server was being
used by 6 Mainstar OEM IBM software products as data transport manager for the
IBM Tivoli user interfaces (GUI).
SENIOR PRODUCT DEVELOPER, IBM DB2 Recovery Expert for z/OS
Teleworker. Principle Architect, Developer and Product Development Team Leader.
Recruited to create this new product. This product is IBMs DB2 Tool to provide
the DB2 DBAs a tool that would generate DB2 data recoveries that were guaranteed
to work with a return of zero using recovery assets such as image copies, VSAM
backups, UNLOAD backups, volume based backups, and logs. This product provided a
user friendly GUI and wizard to guide non-technical DB2 staff in the generation
of accurate object/data recoveries. Product has 400+ customers.
Hire, train, develop and lead 20+ person technical team. Worked with CTO and IBM
DB2 Tools software management to create product design. Scope of position is
extensive and includes full design, software development, implementation,
testing, technical writing, training, customer relations, and product management.
Worked with development teams located in all time zones of the USA, Europe, and
Russia. Travelled across USA and Europe to work with development teams, QA teams,
and technical writers.
Product z/OS components were written in IBM High-Level Assembler, C++, PL/1,
complex SQL queries (dynamic and static), complex shadow DB2 system catalog
repository, multi tasking programming, and a large complex Java Swing interface.

SENIOR PRODUCT DEVELOPER, IBM DB2 Object Restore for z/OS
Teleworker. Principle Developer and Product Development Team Leader. Recruited
to finish this incomplete product. This product was created on request of an IBM
customer that wanted to replace another competitors product that did not fit.
This product allowed the user to recover dropped DB2 objects, DDL and data.
Product was written in IBM High-Level Assembler, complex SQL queries (dynamic and
static), complex shadow DB2 system catalog repository, multi tasking programming,
and a large complex ISPF dialog user interface. This product grew from a 1
customer product to an 800+ customer product.
I was initially the sole product developer and designer. As the product matured
I trained, develop and lead 4+ person technical team. Worked with IBM DB2 Tools
software management to create a product design that met customer expectations.
Scope of position is extensive and includes full design, software development,
implementation, testing, technical writing, training, customer relations, and
product management. Worked with development teams located in the USA and Russia.
Travelled across USA and Russia to work with development teams, customers, QA
teams, and technical writers.
Key achievements:
Designed and developed complex commercial DB2 Tools software product for IBM.

Programming group Team Leader for meter data gathering system. Lead a team of 4
contract programmers. Scope of position included providing direction,
engineering, implementation, support, and administration. Development was done in
COBOL, complex SQL (dynamic and static), batch JCL, CICS, and using VSAM and DB2
repositories.
Platinum Technologies (now CA), Oakbrook Terrace IL 1993 1999
SENIOR PRODUCT DEVELOPER, Product Packaging
Office and Teleworker. Recruited to upgrade and replace product SMP/E
installation manager software that was shipped with each product. Worked with
product packaging group to create this software installation manager software.
This software was a complex REXX based ISPF dialog that generated the product
SMP/E installation JCL based on installation environment and existing installed
software versions.

software used by all of the Platinum Technologies z/OS products. This software
was considered a product unto itself and was installed and maintained as such.
