By working on several types of applications for a variety of clients gives me a
unique ability to familiarize with new software, provide technical support, and
design setup procedures to move from existing software to newly purchased
software.
Working in a programming shop has allowed me to provide technical support for
multiple clients with different needs, providing this technical support has
allowed me to maintain a good client relationship.
Lead consultant for a northwest Indiana manufacturing company, where I
maintained and customized the manufacturing software on the AS/400. Some of the
projects worked on included customizing the software to send shipping information
from the AS/400 to the UPS software, and have the AS/400 program retrieve
shipping information from the UPS software for billing. ODBC data transfer so
users could have a customized spreadsheet on their PC. Researched and created
programs needed for the use of RF equipment.
Implemented barcode labeling on pick tickets, work sheets, and packing slips for
easier data entry and inquiring. Customized and created new and old reports as
per the need of the indivuals that used the mfg. software. Implemented an
outside payroll package and customized for the use of this company.
Lead consultant for a job shop company in central Indiana, where I implemented a
job billing process that was done manually, enhanced their invoice processing,
and created a motor storage system that included user security that could be
accessed remotely. Created an employee time card processing so the company could
track time by employee billing & non billing time per job. Time card processing
has several types of reports that could be generated as the user needed.
Implemented an outside A/R software package with their existing in house
programming. Researched and developed a backup and recovery plan.
Assisted with modernization and maintaining telemarketing software that was
created by DCS. I also was able to send shipping information from the AS/400 to
the UPS software, and have the AS/400 program retrieve shipping information from
the UPS software for billing on the AS/400.
One of the project leaders on software re-write for a retail business. This
re-write project included tasks like creating delivery, installation, and service
departments which included calendar scheduling, point of sale, barcodes, simple
but effective way to efficiently keep track of on hand inventory, custom form
