Project Description

Performs the primary web/application development and project management for all
software based initiatives for the company, including supporting day-to-day user
issues. Since arriving at Mirror Inc, Ward has redesign the corporate web
presence totally from static html to a dynamic driven website with Sql Server
2005 on the backend and running .NET 3.5. Current development includes revamping
of current intranet site to customer and provider extranet, company Help Desk
site and taking the company paperless via a program called TIER by Sequest
Technologies. TIER is a healthcare based application that stores all data related

Project Description

Performed the primary web development for the company, I was responsible for all
web based initiatives at DDKS. Revamping of the company website (according to
DDPA standards – DDKS parent company) was implemented utilizing a point-to-point
VPN between us and them for secured access to data using Site Minder, C#.NET
(.NET 2.0), XML DB. Also performed a number of enhancements on existing systems
(written in classic ASP) which interfaced with the iSeries (AS/400) for the
company. Worked closely with the AS/400 RPG programmers to develop tables,
scripts, and objects that could be invoked and used across and on the web, using
Classic ASP, HTML, DHTML, JavaScript, CSS and AJAX. 

Big project worked on was the Faxback, and application that accepted user input
via the phone (IVR system), which in turn populated a database so that an
application could detect the data requested, query the iSeries, pull data back
into a PDF format to email to requesting client. Along with the custom coded Help
Desk system, ANSI transaction development done with X12 and a number of other
back-office utilities still being used, I also support end users with issues with
these systems and basic end user system support.

Performed in an intermediate financial development role for ProtectionOne. Was
responsible for the maintenance, upkeep, and new development of the company’s

Performed a senior/lead role with other consultants in the development of hotel
management software. Was responsible for the following products:
The Attribute Inventory Manager, AIM, allows a property to inventory room
attributes (amenities) so that as guests make requests they can be told whether
or not those requests can be met.  
The Room Rotation Manager is an extension of AIM, which makes smarter room
assignments.  The Room Rotation Manager watches patterns of commonly requested
attributes and selects a room number for assignment that is as close to the
requested combination of attributes yet away from those most likely to be
requested.  
The VIP Guest Manager goes even one step further.  By attaching a “weight” value
to five different guest entities, this component allows smarter business
decisions to be made.  
These products combined made up modules that could be fit together to work as a
fully functioning system. Developers were home-based in Kansas City, Wichita,
Newton, and Los Angeles. All code was written utilizing .NET, Sql Server and
heavy OOD and OOP. This was a startup venture that went bust in 2004/2005.
