and other production databases, while looking to expand personal knowledge and
experience of these systems to better serve clients and employers.

Contracts and Full Time Positions

Jun. 2008 – Jul. 2008: Software Engineer (RF Engineer III) – Sprint (Overland
Park, KS)
Built, maintained, and automated information and decision tools operating on an
immense OLAP reporting cube using statistical aggregation, analysis, and
correlation. Optimized, clarified, and rewrote technical requirements documents
improving inter-group communication and decreasing request turnaround time. 
Optimized and automated daily tasks saving hundreds of man hours per month.

Nov. 2007 – Apr. 2008: Sales Engineer - Adknowledge, Inc. (Kansas City, MO)
Built and maintained, in PHP, a production SOAP API for advertisers to replace a
legacy XML only system written in C++. Worked with advertisers to setup, debug,
and troubleshoot installation and setup of both our API and also other technical
systems and problems. Maintained and expanded our ad-serving database operations
with a real-time rules based capping system, an automatic minimum bid adjustment,
database design and table structure, along with optimization and consolidation of
database procedures, views, objects and functions. Trained and mentored various
employees on schema design, query optimization, and process design for large data
sets on both Netezza and Oracle.

Jan. 2007 – Nov. 2007: Sr. Software Engineer - Adknowledge, Inc. (Kansas City,
MO)
Wrote and maintained a massive data-mining ETL operation processing 25GB+/day
operating on a 10TB Netezza database. Continued maintenance and creation of
queries and scripts to sync data, roll-ups, and cubes. Performed data mining and
data cleansing tasks on large Netezza and Oracle tables. Performed various
Netezza maintenance including both scheduled and ad-hoc reclaims, schema
management, removing old data, and freeing up space by removing unnecessary and
unused tables. Wrote, maintained, and consolidated several automated systems in
PL/SQL to handle reporting and configuration data.

May 2005 – Jan. 2007: Software Engineer - Adknowledge, Inc. (Kansas City, MO)
Maintained, expanded, and supported extensive Perl and PHP reporting systems;
growing the available reporting services to allow correct, consistent, and
informed decisions. Used Perl and PHP to create custom reports, drill downs, and
user interfaces as extensions to the current system and stand alone applications.
Assisted in a massive data migration by creating, maintaining, testing, and
verifying scripts and queries to move data between production Netezza, Oracle and
MySQL Databases. Also used Netezza to generate roll-ups, cubes, and fact tables
which were then transferred back to Oracle for reporting.

Side Work

Jun. 2008 – Jul. 2008: Website Development – Serendipity Casting (New York, NY)
Wrote, designed, and automated client’s website using PHP, XHTML, CSS, and AJAX.
Features included automatic image resizing and rotation, automatic page creation,
integrated video, and slideshows.
