John Hancock and parent Manulife Financial Company are leading global providers
of financial protection and wealth management products and services.

Program Manager, New Business Life Operations 2006-present
Responsible for all projects in New Business Risk Management, Finance, and
Reinsurance.
- Driving a suite of projects focused on improving access to JH Life
applications and forms, and simplifying the mechanism for filling out
applications. These projects include:
- Redesign and simplification of the Term Application
- Redesign and simplification of the Permanent Products Application, Product
Details, and Miscellaneous Forms
- Ability to access applications, forms and illustrations from SalesNet
- Integration of SalesNet and JH Illustrator software, data, and forms
- Implementation of fillable, editable, stored forms in a shared repository 
- Automated integration of the data and PDF’s from SalesNet and JH Illustrator
directly into Siebel, the New Business workflow system.
- Managed the global implementation of a new Manulife Underwriter Manual for US,
Canadian, and Asian divisions. The project included requirements definition,
vendor selection, contract negotiation, conversion from the previous manual,
testing, training, and implementation (April 2007).
- Analyzed and piloted the use of Dual Monitors for underwriters. Rollout for
all offices and remote underwriters was approved 5/1/2007.

Contractor, New Business Life Operations 2005-2006
Directed multiple New Business projects to integrate and upgrade the John
Hancock and Manulife Life Business systems and processes.
- Managed all activities to implement Siebel 7, the New Business workflow system
in Boston. Responsibilities included defining and aligning best practices between
the two organizations, rollout of the new system, upgrading desktop computers,
training, and internal and external communication. 
- Managed the M Group implementation on Siebel. Responsible for assuring all
special, highly sensitive M Group processing issues were resolved and implemented
appropriately as well as all activities associated with the Siebel 7
implementation.
- Responsible for several smaller projects, included process and system
modifications for Post-delivery Requirements processing, desktop computer
refresh, email expansion, and technical infrastructure consulting.
- Responsible for reworking the Reinsurance proposal for approval by senior
management (Steve Finch, Jonathan Porter). Proposal approved to implement a one
year, $1.5 million project to replace both the Boston and Toronto Reinsurance
systems. Named business Project Manager for project, which is under way.

Vice President, Analysis Services 2000 - 2002
Directed multiple Boston IT teams on global technology projects in the Mutual
Funds, Fund Administration, and Transfer Agency businesses. 
- Managed tasks to schedule converting Clients from the US Trust Mutual Fund
system to the Chase Global Mutual Funds system. Boston responsibilities included
writing specifications, development and execution of test plans, co-ordination of
User Acceptance Testing with both internal and external Clients. Increased new
portfolios by 85% following system implementation.
- Managed all tasks and implemented four major Fund Administration projects
creating new product lines. Increased funds administered by 76% globally.
- Managed the implementation of intraday Fed Wire processing for the Transfer
Agency. Decreased the operating expenses by $250,000 annually.
- Introduced structured project planning, documentation standards,
implementation techniques, software testing tools, and the Capability Maturity
Model. Resulted in recognition from Senior Technology Management for the Boston
Team.

United States. The company’s principal businesses, Personal Financial Services
and Wholesale Banking, offer a comprehensive array of innovative financial

Director/Program Manager, Risk Management Systems 1993 - 1999
Directed the project to implement a system and processes to define and automate
mechanisms for the measurement and management of market and credit risk for
Global Capital Markets. Built the entire team and technical environment from
scratch.
- Loosened credit restrictions, engaged in new trading based businesses, and
increased the portfolio size of established clients due to the precision of
measurements implemented. 
- Expanded business products to include Credit Derivatives, Emerging Markets,
and the establishment and SEC approval of Section 20 Mutual Fund business.

as well as “hot site” strategy.
- Development of highly controlled program branching, merging, and release
procedures of application code in support of multiple application teams running
parallel development and enhancement efforts.
- Benchmarked performance between Cray and Sun high performance servers.

installation of new platform for both Retail and Wholesale Lockbox processing
