I am the Senior IT Network Specialist, Team Leader and Network
Manager/Administrator responsible for developing specifications for improvements
to the networking infrastructure, interpreting operational and technical
requirements with respect to the exchange of information via the Nuclear Risk
Reduction Center (NRRC) communications links Senior Leadership Network, as well
as assisting in the planning and management of branch activities. Pimarily
responsible for providing high-level senior management staff with administrative
and technical support for the communications facilities such as the operationing
secure phones, STE 's, SECURE FAX and VDC conference configuration,
installation, troubleshooting and upgrading due to equipment failure or system
change. Specifically responsible for administering and operating IT systems for
the NRRC Government to Government Communications Link (GGCL) and Senior Staff
Operations (S/S-O) office setting up schedule and unscheduled Secure Video and
Secure Voice Conferences with a variety of other government agencies for the OP
CTR. Administers communications traffic and provides data base management in
support of mission activities in accordance with prescribed Department policies,
security standards and technical procedures as well as day-to-day system user
support. Responsible for shift operations, schedule and oversees operational
performance of telecommunications platforms which include; Promina, multiplexers,
stand-alone personal computers, servers, routers, switches and encryption devices
and materials. Perform cryptographic key changes electronically and manually, as
well as the accountability of all COMSEC material. Insures that all active
circuits are monitored and connected from point of origin to point of
destination. Responsible for all liason with customer inquiries and request to be
implemented. Responsible for overseeing and monitoring that customer request are
carried out to completion and to their satisfaction.

Red Switch Maintenance Technician
Knowledgeable in the operational procedures of the DRSN secure phones, VOIP, STE
's, FAL, IST, SECURE FAX and VDC. Perform equipment testing and calibration of
all DRSN mission essential equipment before every mission to ensure that
communications are in working order for the upcoming mission. I am responsible
for the daily process of reporting, escalating, and tracking of circuit outages,

everyone has all the current, up to date information. Instrumental in the ability
to fabricate, and repair faulty cables as well as replace and spare equipment.
Knowledgeable in the uses and operations of test equipment to include Volt
Milliamp Meters, Oscilloscopes, T-Berds and FireBerd 6000 's.

Coordinates scheduled opening and closing of system/network circuits and perform
daily backups for recovery purposes. Recover system/network computer from normal
and planned halts. Monitor system/network computer queues, taking necessary
actions to correct any spilled messages to terminal. Perform cryptographic
inventory, key change and update in accordance with National Security Agency and
State Department security regulations. Maintain continuity of circuits from
point-of-origin to point-of-destination. Test, isolate and correct faults
reported in circuit paths using all available test equipment. Read and interpret

performed and updated during the shift. Circuit Outage Logs are maintained in
accordance with standard operating procedures and guidelines, while staying in
direct hourly contact with clients, Technicians and Carrier ˜s to reestablish
circuit connectivity and continuity. In addition, I 've cross trained and
assisted during shortage of staff in other IRM areas such as, Communication
Information Branch, Remote Automated Reproduction Collation System and the
Nuclear Risk Reduction Center.
