Work History
02/2008 to Present – Senior Lead Software Engineer: BAE Systems
Responsible for the full life-cycle development of new software
for and enhancements to the Bankruptcy Notification Center (BNC)
system. The BNC is a system that manages and sends out papwer
and electronic bankruptcy notifications. Electronic Notices
include email attachment, email link, fax, and Electronic Data
Interchange (EDI) notices to creditors and debtors. Designed and
developed a new application to tie together the database used by
noticing partners that sign up for electronic bankruptcy
notifications (using a web site interface to the database used
to store the list of validated creditors. Modified existing
back-end system to allow for increased throughput for paper
notices.

7/2007 to 2/2008 – Senior Consultant, eSolutionsFirst,
Client: Freddie Mac
Re-engineered the Structured Sales Monthly Accounting
software for the Investments and Capital Markets Investment
Accounting Division to implement FAS 155 accounting
policies for Freddie Mac’s Mortgage Backed Securities.
Analyzed the business requirements and worked with Lead
Systems Analyst and business staff to write the functional
specifications. Re-designed the application to identify
existing and new structured MBS sales deals and to execute
the correct fee, fee, fee relief, and gain/(loss)
calculations for each deal type. Wrote two separate detailed
technical design documents for two separate phases of the
FAS 155 Enhancements. Split the code up from one 8000-line
module into eight modules along functional lines to facilitate
maintainability. Wrote detailed documents on the business
rules, fee types, fee relief types, and gain/loss
calculations and output tables, including the input tables
and columns and how the calculation factors are derived and
defined. Mentored two junior Freddie Mac employees and
eventually handed over the lead technical responsibilities
to them as I began working on another project.
Currently, I am working on a project to productionalize a
set of monthly and quarterly reports generated by the
accounting directors and financial analysts
in the Investment and Capital Markets division.

2/2007 to 7/2007 – Business Systems Consultant,
Wells Fargo Home Mortgage, Frederick, MD
Acted as an intermediary between the business users and the
technical staff on the Enterprise Originations (EO) Capital
Markets Operational Data Store (CMODS) system. CMODS is a
data warehouse system that stores data for the mortgage loans
at Wells Fargo Home Mortgage. Analyzed business requirements
and use them to write Data Functional Design (DFD) documents.
Designed a set of DB2 decision tables for an application that
builds a loan data file to replace a complex set of DataStage
ETL code. The decision table designs were based on a set of
complex ETL code logic in the Transformer stages of the
DataStage jobs. The implementation of the decision tables
replaced 80% of the ETL code used in the Transformer stages
of the QRM DataStage jobs and will allow business new rules
to be implemented in a fraction of the time that they had
been implemented using logic imbedded in the ETL code. Also
wrote Service Level Agreements, Operation Level Agreements,
and Implementation Plans for the CMODS project.

Sub-Ledger Accounting System (PSL). PSL is an investment
accounting system used by the Investments and Capital Markets
Group used for the Freddie Mac restatement. PSL is still used
as the System of Record for Mortgage Backed Securities at
Freddie Mac. Designed and developed Perl/DBI Scripts, UNIX
shell scripts, Sybase SQL scripts and stored procedures for
the monthly and quarterly accounting cycles of Freddie Mac’s
financial restatements of 2003, 2004, and 2005 and for the
2006 accounting cycles. Designed and developed AutoSys JIL
files to schedule batch jobs for accounting workstreams and
system maintenance. Designed and developed UNIX shell scripts
to monitor AutoSys jobs. Worked directly with business users
to analyze requirements, design database queries, validate
results, and research data anomalies. Accounting experience
includes FAS 91, FAS140, FIN 45, and EITF 99. Designed and
developed DB2 SQL to pull FAS140 fee data from a Corporate
Data Warehouse (CDW). Designed and developed a DCU script
generation tool that reduced DCU script development time by
75%. Designed and developed a foreign key identification tool
to validate DCU specifications and prevent foreign key
constraint errors during DCU execution. Designed and developed
an HTML-based tool to take UNIX/SQL scripts and generate
formatted MS-Word documents to document code. Sybase
experience includes SQL scripts, stored procedures, query
optimization, ad hoc queries to solve data anomalies,
triggers, foreign keys, and views. Other duties included
providing production support for the PSL accounting system.
Used Remedy to report production issues. Used ClearCase and
ClearQuest for software version control and deployment.
Received a spot award in April 2006 for work on PSL. Received

PL/SQL scripts that converted a Sybase database to an Oracle
database. Designed and developed database conversion scripts
for the Defense Medical Logistics Standard Support (DMLSS)
system at Fort Detrick, MD. These database conversions
involved running and maintaining UNIX shell scripts,
Perl/DBI scripts, and Sybase SQL to upgrade ARMY DMLSS
databases from version 2.X to version 3.X. This also
involved identifying hospital site-specific data anomalies
and writing Perl/DBI and SQL stored procedures to resolve
these data anomalies. Oracle development included the
development and maintenance of Perl/DBI scripts to create
and start an instance of an Oracle 9i database, extract data
from a Sybase database, build the database schema and
populate the database tables with the data from the Sybase
database. Sybase experience included query optimization and
tuning, stored procedures, triggers and views.
