* Developed and implemented multiple data acquisition systems including 2 DEC
VAX 4300 Data Logging Systems and several Microsoft Windows PC-based systems.
* Improved process control and quality by recommending, developing and
implementing real-time color graphics display systems (HMIs) that provided mill
operators with instant feedback of process parameters.

After determining the need for collection, storage and availability of process
information, recommended, acquired, installed and implemented 2 Data Acquisition
Servers running Microsoft SQL Server 2000 that received real-time process data
from several mill units.  Developed interfaces with DEC VAX, GE CIMplicity,
WonderWare InTouch and several other custom-built data logging and control
systems to log several gigabytes of process data per week.
* Used Transact-SQL, Query Analyzer and Crystal Reports to produce custom
reports and perform database maintenance tasks.
* Saved more than $100K by developing several graphically oriented reports and
displays of mill processes and profiles of finished products.  These reports were
also used by Customer Support Engineers to research customer claims for defective
product and resulted in many denied claims.  They were also instrumental in
preventing shipment of defective product to customers, saving claims costs,
shipping costs and reprocessing costs before they ever occurred.
