2009 - Bioinformatics research at the Virginia Tech Computer Science Department.
Wrote programs in Linux using C++, Python, Perl, ect. to analyze the genomes of
the influenza virus, mice, macaques and humans.
Research:
2008 - Worked with assistive technologies at Virginia Tech. Helped develop a
character recognition program for Windows to assist people with disabilities

2007 – Created a Ray Tracer in 32 bit windows – a ray tracer is a 3d graphics
engine that uses physics to attain more photorealism than with conventional
graphics techniques
2005 – Created an advanced animation and drawing program in 32 bit windows.

2002 – Created a 3D Engine in DOS using my own algorithm

Experiences, Affiliations and Awards
2008 – Earned best design project of the semester in Embedded systems
2005 – Traveled to Beijing, Shanghai, and Shenzhen, China with the International
Scholar Laureate Program for two weeks to research China’s recent acceleration in
technological advancement.
2005 – Awarded a piloting scholarship by the Black Pilots of America
– obtained a student’s pilots license
2004 – Honored by Baltimore County for outstanding achievement in technology
2003 – Nominated by Milford Mill high school to attend the National Youth
Leadership Forum on Technology in San Jose, California. One week technology
conference including lectures from the CEOs of SYSCO systems, and Intel, and a VP
of Microsoft among others.
– Began own candy business to fund the trip to San Jose. Business
consisted of
two employees. Grossed over $4,000.00 in sales, and Net
profit of over $1,500.00.
