Network Engineer
Helped develop the Trademark Work@Home program. This program utilized
an ISDN based broadband connection to a Citrix server to allow patent attorneys
to work from home via a server based virtual desktop. This application emulated
the employees’ computer desktop in every respect while allowing them to work from
home, which in turn lowered overall costs for the PTO and commuting costs for the
employees.
Assisted in the development and support of the PTO’s Mail@Home program.
This remote mail program was developed for upper level PTO employees to securely
access their PTO email from anywhere. The system was based on using the PTO’s
existing Exchange servers, the MS Exchange client and SecureID’s pseudo random
number generating keyfobs and synchronized security server.
