                      Capability statement
I am applying for this job because I want to develop my career in information
technology management. In particular I am interested in the factors that make
information management and maintenance a pivot for the business performance
especially in this information age.

I believe that data entry would be essential in helping me achieve these
objectives. It would enable me channel my technical and conceptual skills in
technology related analysis for business and would open up new avenues for
information research
I believe that my background in information and data management has prepared me
for such a career. I have found data and information management very interesting
since my school days where I received one of the best marks in database
preparations for my project work.

I joined Makerere University to broaden my perspective and improve my career
prospects.  Information technology as a subject was very essential when I was
choosing my degree program which was business computing and in this I performed
well in projects, workshops and discussions. I took up information system and
software applications as a subject during my first year of study and with this I
broadened my computer knowledge which I was later to apply to the companies I
worked with..
I was in position to develop an information system and run it at the same time
from the time data is entered into the system to the time information is readily
processed.
I also got familiar with different software applications especially data entry
applications like ms office, access, lotus plus accounting packages like pastel
and tally.
Networking and web designing were the other interesting subjects during my time
of study. With these I got so acquainted to websites and the internet as a whole.
 
Although I did not perform to my satisfaction academically, I finished with a
GPA of 4.2 with which I maintained the deans list from my first year to the end

Upon graduation, I was offered a job with Kitandwe enterprises a distribution
firm which ranks among the largest in the centre of Kampala. Here I applied the
principals of management and also incorporated computer skills in the general
running of the company system.

I introduced computerised stock control by introducing software that could
enable stock control and management simple. I was in charge of running this
system by inputting data and then forward the data to the top executives.  I was
also in charge of store management where by I would inform the top executive
about how much stock was left in the stores and with this information we would
arrange for procurement of more inventories.
I was later promoted to the estates department and here I would do the work of
computerising company tenants and finding out which of the tenants were in debt.
With this I enhanced the company efficiency.

I later moved to Michigan in the USA and another company called Mariana agency
took me up as an assistant data manager were I was responsible for making
appropriate data entries into the company computer system, analysing the records
and forwarding them to the top executives. I was also in position to help the
information manager in preparing periodic reports as concerns the company’s
information system.
I believe that this unique blend of experiences has made me a man with an
original point of view. This blend has given me a broader perspective to and a
good understanding of data entry and its impact to the company performance. And
with this diversity of experience I have a lot to offer. I also believe in
providing and maintaining non-negotiable high standards and service
