This project is to reconcile the TAX for the Account holders of Bank of New York
Mellon with IRS. Business is in need to get the detail TAX calculations of each
account holders based on the TAX rules, so that they can get the reports to match
with IRS. Due to the changes in Business rules, there are new DB2 tables are
added to the existing system. Also there are few fields added to the existing DB2
tables, which resulted change in Cobol / DB2 batch Programs.

Responsibility:

The AD OTL project will provide a systematic way to designate AD products. This
application will recognize PO’s with ‘bulky’ items and distribute that product to
arrive at the store ‘just in time’ for the AD. For ‘non-bulky’ AD product
systematically recognize the AD PO and delay the distribution of the AD product
until the AD PO is received. 

The recognition of the AD forecast will be systematically determined by DC and
processing mode, allowing flexibility in the distribution of the AD forecast. 
This will prevent pulling AD product from reserve at the DC before the AD order
is received, causing backroom issue at the DC and additional handling costs.  

The other part of the project is reporting, has online web pages and batch jobs.
The item distribution window will report on when AD product is distributed from
the DC and is received at the store, for items on Held OTL’s. The batch jobs will
gather the data for the web page to use for reporting.

Blue Cross Blue Shield is the  largest health insurer for the state of Georgia.
BCBS uses, a managed health care package developed by GTE Health Care Systems,
US, for majority of their health care related processing. At present BCBS has
acquired the source code for Q/care (Quality Cost Analysis, Review & Evaluation)
and the maintenance and enhancements are taken care by the internal BCBS staff.
Q/care being the core system, BCBS wants to port the additional functionality of
TRACS (The Real Time Adjudication Claim System) and call it as Q/State. Q/State
will be an independent application that will cater to the needs of State Merit
System. Currently maintenance and enhancements for both the modules Q/CARE &
Q/STATE is being done. 

The various modules are CCB (Call Care Browser), CCB-IVR (IVR-Interactive Voice
Response), Finance, Regular Business, HIPA-EDI.

This is an enhancement project for McLane Company. The Company is divided into
19 divisions and 1 Home Office, which are internally represented by a single
character Pacwood code. Currently, McLane wants to expand the representation to a
2-character division code, so that the systems support the business expansion
from 26 divisions to 676. 

The scope of the current project is to convert programs, data elements, data
etc. for all the mainframe applications. Broadly speaking, the mainframe
applications can be divided into two categories: DCS and Non-DCS. 

DCS is a bought out package (and currently internally maintained by McLane) and
consists of modules like: Merchandise, Logistics, and Vendor rebates, Billing
System, Account Payable . The non-DCS category consists of modules like: Deal
Management and EDI Vendor Payment.

The Fraud Reporting System helps members to report, track and analyze fraudulent
transactions. The service consolidates fraud information, helps members to detect

weekly, monthly and quarterly basis. Additional action may be required for
transactions that are rejected or receive a warning status. All accepted
transactions are added to Fraud Master File, which was subsequently used by
various Risk Management Programs.
