technician time spent on work. It sends damaged pictures to our FILENET system.
It helps reduce our holding costs and stock-outs. We are very close to JIT
inventory system.

ECMS is Enterprise Content Management System, which provide
content to several applications. Administrators create the content and publish
the content through front end. The whole application is divided into three
modules. Module 1 is to Create/edit documents for Lucent.com Home page, Customer
Support, Resource Library, Customer, and Business Partner Centers. Module 2 is
to create, edit, and maintain content in the Product Catalog for Lucent.com.
Module 3 is for establishing hierarchy, and create/edit orderable items.

•	Enhanced the functionality of module 2 by making it publish new content. In
this module java RMI is used for publishing the content. Using the Pub-Sub module
implemented the new functionality.
•	Transformed data into XML document using the core services package.
•	At subscriber end the XML document is retrieved, parsed and the corresponding
data is stored in the database.
•	Handled inter process communication with at most care as there are three
processes running at the same time.
•	All the enhanced functionality is tested and deployed in production
•	Also involved in PRM and OLCS projects for minor code fixes and enhancements.
•	Created Printer friendly pages for PRM application.

GE Corporate (Shelton, CT)
       Jul’ 2003 to Jun’ 2004
Team Lead

Estart/Eexit System is a Web Application used by Managers/Hr Managers
of GE to place orders for on-boarding, off-boarding needs of GE and Non-GE
workers. Application has several Administrators to set-up tasks for managers to
place orders. Administrators can nominate other administrators based on their
access level. Every order placed by manager/hr manager needs approval from
several approvers and finally from the task owner. Orders can be rejected at any
point during its life cycle and can be resubmitted. The time spent by every
person working on the order is tracked. The application was developed using J2EE
architecture and Struts framework. The application gets source data from OHR data
warehouse. This is a rewrite project. The project was previously maintained in
Lotus domino.

•	Designed Database using Erwin following Object Oriented conventions. During
the design, GE standards such as Common Object Repository are strictly followed.

•	Designed Object Model in Eclipse using UML plug-in.
•	Used Tiles for handling all Headers of JSP pages.
•	Coded stored procedures in PL/SQL for daily import of data from warehouse•
Used Merge for refreshing data. Observed merge being more efficiently than using
cursors in PL/SQL.
•	Written all business-logic queries as stored-procedures. J2EE design patterns
are followed while developing application functionality.
•	Developed triggers to send mails to corresponding persons when there is change
in data.
•	Used Log 4J for logging data.
•	The application uses GE single sign-on policy, which uses LDAP to authenticate
the user.
•	Non-GE workers are not imported as part of daily process. They are pulled
dynamically using LDAP server. Developed common business object for this
functionality, which parses the XML document and stores the required information
in database.
•	Instead of storing all users of application in database whenever new user
comes in after authenticating him, will pull his information using LDAP server.
•	Wrote scripts to load data from staging database to application database as
part of one-time loading of data from flat-file system to Oracle 9i.
•	Did the builds using Ant and deployed the application in Web sphere in the
development environment.
•	Handled synchronization issues in business objects in situations like several
task owners acting on an order at same time.
•	Created dynamic menus i.e. menus change based on access rights of user.
•	Developed Cycle time report module where Order life cycle is shown to user in
Excel file.
•	Implemented application mailing system using Java Mail. Mailing by back ground
process is handled in PL/SQL.
•	Handled all exception cases in the application like managers changing
business, managers getting removed, workers changing business, change in GE
organization hierarchy etc.
•	Security issues are handled by making all validations on server side and
restricting users from entering scripting tags in forms.
•	Generated weekly report of data in Excel using POI API provided by Jakarta.
•	Tested application functionality, with various boundary conditions.

Environment: J2EE, Struts, JSP, Servlets, XML, JavaScript, WSAD, Oracle 9i, UML,
Eclipse, TOAD, Ant, Visual source safe, Web sphere 5.0, Tomcat 4.0, Windows 2000
and Unix.
