Contractor - Teksystems
Overall support for Solaris machines, which includes: installation,
configuration, and daily maintenance. Special projects include: Storage
Optimization, Storage Reclamation (Hitachi/HDLM), Sun machine migration/moves for
the West coast data center
(Pacific Healthcare Systems).
Guidant/Boston Scientific Arden Hills, MN 6/07 – 5/08
Contractor – Robert Half
Provided support for the Advanced Patient Management project (Sun Solaris
primarily, with minimal AIX support). This included installation, configuration,
and maintenance of Solaris 10 zones, along with automating changes in the
environment. Daily tasks include: patching, performance tuning, troubleshooting
and replacing failed hardware. Main project was to install forty new servers and
decommission the old environment.
Winston Title, Inc. Minneapolis, MN 1/04 – 5/08

Founder of Winston Title Inc. Responsible for managing twelve employees and
growing company. Duties included: creation and management of entire IT
infrastructure, management of all back-end operations for the company, management
and oversight of production services, overall support of all technical systems,
and management of all day to day operations including human resources, financial
operations, and accounting.

Systems Support Engineer
Provided high end software and hardware support for the entire family of Sun
Servers, workstations, and storage products. Responsibilities included: overall
support, custom installation services for servers, hardware and software
troubleshooting, pre-planning and design of server implementation, monthly
support meetings for customers, and patch/upgrade solutions for customers, with a
specialty in kernel core dump analysis. Client list included: Guidant, Best Buy,
Digital River, Target Corporation, United Defense, United States Postal Service,
Medtronic, Finger Hut, Reliastar, and general support of Minnesota for un-named
accounts.

Senior UNIX Administrator
Provided overall support for the UNIX/Oracle infrastructure (Sun). Main
projects included: installation and support of A3500 servers, ftp servers, and
support for oracle on numerous web servers.
Northwest Airlines - Information Services Eagan, MN 3/00 - 7/00
Contractor – Inntech Personnel
Provided support for the UNIX environment which consisted of Sun/IBM (Solaris
and AIX).
Special projects included implementation of QIP IP management software, and
evaluation
of the Legato backup implementation.
United Defense - Strategic Services Department Minneapolis, MN 1/99 - 3/00
Senior IT Analyst
Provided overall support for the UNIX infrastructure consisting of over 1,000
workstations and 70 servers (Sun and SGI). Provided additional support to the
software engineering group and the PIMS Metaphase group, with specialized
support
for ACE dial-in authentication software and QIP IP management software.
Operated
as the Y2k project lead for the UNIX environment. The responsibilities for this
project included: scheduling and upgrading all of the Sun and SGI servers to
Solaris 2.6 and IRIX 6.5, respectively; setting up boot/install servers for
both Sun and SGI workstations; coordinating with all engineering groups for Y2k
testing of applications in the UNIX environment.
University of Minnesota-Duluth - Computer Science Department Duluth, MN 5/98 –

Senior Systems Software Programmer
Supported the Computer Science Department's UNIX machines. Served as webmaster
for the
department, cooperated in long-term planning for the department's computer
facilities,
and development of the graduate and undergraduate computer labs. Special
projects
included setup and installation of a Sun A1000 storage array, and design and
implementation of a backup schedule.

Supported the UNIX environment with specialized support for the Applied
Mechanics
department and the Systems Engineering department including the high performance
computing environment. Special projects included standardization of the login
scripts,
NIS domain consolidation, evaluation of CERT advisories, and standardization of
IRIX 6.x.
